I have seen a fair number of people discussing what new gun they will buy with the stimulus check when it arrives.

If you want to be able to keep your guns, perhaps instead you should consider using that money to support one or more gun rights groups. We all have some we approve of (mine is the Second Amendment Foundation) and some we don't like, but the good ones can make politicians pay attention or push important court cases.

"Money is the Mother’s Milk of Politics" -- You can do a lot of good personally by encouraging new shooters, writing letters and generally being a vocal supporter of liberty, but without money the national groups are a lot less effective.

For some of us that money is desperately needed, but if not this may be a chance to do something important for all of us.

Hi folks,
New member here...just about 20-minutes-new, in fact. I hail from east coast VA.
As far as the stimulus...well, I purchased a RIA "Baby Rock" to replace my Bersa .380 that I had to pawn a few years ago. Felt terribly naked the whole time.
I figured that I have to outstanding debt and it feels like a now-or-never sorta thing. Thankfully, I never got rid of my ammo!
Anyhow, stay safe, stay sharp, and glad to meet y'all.
P.S. I like MoscowMike's suggestion to support a 2A organisation.

I anticipate that there is a strong possibility of a “boating accident”. Please use situational awareness so that you do not experience a catastrophic loss of your property. Those canoes can be tricky!

@Esrafel welcome to the forum.

My wife and I got ours and spent it all on bills, here today home today, but I did join and donate to 2 National 2a groups. By the way fpc is rafleing a Daniel defense Ar.

Hug and thank your kids and grandchildren, as they will be the one's paying for this... forever.

I know guys...I get it. However, what this very real stupidity has done was put something tangible, useful, and intimately (the things are headed) valuable into my hands.
All I had for home defense was my old Winchester bolt .22. Kinda unyeildy in a pinch. That bad boy was gifted to my Dad when he was 13...I'm pedal-to-the-metal at 50.
So yeah...I get that this is a political payoff but in leu of gold...I'll invest in protecting my home and family best I can.
Still, I totally see where many of you guys are coming from!
Stay safe, stay happy, hug your loved ones to within an inch of their lives! :)

I would use the stimulus to pay for the tax hike, like 25-5

Just remember, if you and your wife are hard working Americans, and combined you have worked you whole life to make over x dollars a year and plan for retirement, soon, you don't get a stimulus check, you just get to pay the taxes so everyone else can get one.
