Everyone has different reloading tendencies. What do you reload for? How many are reloading the “cheap” 9mm now that weren’t before?

I think there are different groups.. shotgun, revolver, semi auto, long range/hunting, and then the people that reload everything.
Service rifle, hunting rifle, revolvers I like to shoot a lot but not all, SSP/Contender, some self loading pistol and rifle calibers but not all. No shotgun loads. Factory ammunition is plentiful and satisfies my needs quite well.

I created this poll thinking that revolver and higher caliber rifle would be pretty popular as cost savings and precision can be achieved through revolver and long range rifle rounds. Once you get bit with the reloading bug, it’s hard to draw the line.

Survey choices are flawed to get real results!
But I reload everything but shotgun.
Maybe redo choices and leave out ONLY so you can check all that apply
Jmho

made the changes so there is no limitation on selections.

So far I am the only one that reloads shotgun? I reload every caliber/ gauge that I shoot, minus .22LR, 8mm Mauser, and 16 ga. I'm working on getting a MEC for 16, and setting it up for 2 1/2" shells, and I only own one 8mm, more as a collector piece, but I have over 1K surplus for it, would never hunt with it, and rarely shoot it. What I have for it will last my lifetime, and then some.

If one does not shoot shotgun one may not load for it. I dont even own one :)

Well, yes, and I admit I shoot Trap in leagues and ATA competition. And unless one does shoot a lot of shotgun, it really didn't pay to reload it until that pocket where metallic reloading had gotten $$$$ and shotgun shells started disappearing from shelves. For about 4 months there, I was cranking them out as fast as I could before the inevitable price jumps. Then shotgun reloading components started getting harder to find more recently, and like metallic reloading supplies, prices started skyrocketing on them.
I have enough shells to get me through this year of leagues and a few ATA shoots, but for those who don't reload shells and didn't plan ahead, this might be a slim year for clays games.

There is 35 that load all by the counter. I started loading shotgun shells when I was 12 yrs old. Still do it from time to time, 20 ga.

Why so late? I started at 9, in 1972. ;)

I reload everything I own/shoot except rimfire for obvious reasons. That includes shotgun. No revolvers yet, but that will be changing at some point. Once you've made the decision to reload and taken the financial plunge for a press, scale, etc., it seems silly to me to NOT ensure you have the capability to reload everything you shoot.

I actually started off reloading with shotgun. But 9mm and .233 were the first centerfire cartridges I started loading. Yes, factory ammo was cheap at the time but I could still load them both myself for less. And if I enjoy doing so why shouldn't I? Most importantly.... it was no secret that the next panic/shortage was a question of when, not if.

That is when I received my first shotgun. A Stevens 20ga with a full choke. My dad did not hand load so I started if off. Then he bought a Mec 600 for 12 ga.

Everything. But it's been years and years since I loaded shotshells because just don't shoot shotgun much anymore. I still have all the equipment.

Weird old stuff first and foremost. There’s just not a lot of .577-450 sitting on the shelves these days, nor even 30-40 Krag. If I want to shoot the former at all I have to reload, and if I want to shoot the latter affordably, I have to also.

from there it’s a short jump to “why don’t I whip up some .30-06, and some 8mm, and...”

Pistol only for me. Had a Square Deal B that I hadn't used since1994 and started up again Jan 2020 (great timing). Sold the Super Blackhawk and got a dillon 550, so I'm down to 9, 40 and 45. Maybe rifle in my future now that I have the 550.

Everything but shotgun. If I used it more I’d do that too, but right now I mostly shoot pistol and rifle. I’m one of those people that shoot to reload. I was a knife knut before and reloading is a lot like sharpening for me, trying all the stones, steels, angles, powder, bullets, and primers. After all the work, hoping for a perfect edge/group. Basically the only shooting I’ve done since New Years has been testing loads to have a little library for whatever available components I can find. The recent SNAFU with 9mm aside, it’s been surprisingly successful.

I’m going to start loading shotgun because nobody’s loading it
Even with no one loading for shotgun you still can not find conponets to reload shotgun.

Big, or small, I load them all!
Unless it comes in a plastic hull...;)

Long ones, short ones, and ones that spin!
It’s the hand made ones that make me grin!:D

Fat and slow, or skinny and fast,
Oh Dear Lord! Primers at last!

You better watch it, little joey will send his troops out after you. They banned this kind of stuff.

I been taking apart bird shells and make wax slugs.

Oh, there's people reloading for shotgun. The number of new loaders on here and the shotgun sites I go on tells me that. And the big shooters (that aren't sponsored) are still loading away. They had the money are forethought to sock away primers in sleeves (5000) , their wads by the case, (also 5000) and shot by the ton. (or make it)

Everything! Started loading up my shotgun rounds a few months ago. I dusted off an old MEC 700 and got to loading shotgun rounds after I couldn't find any to buy.

Rifle mostly. I do reload several handgun rounds, but only the ones not offered even in the good times.

Reloading basic rounds for handgun got to be boring and tedious; even with a Dillon press.

As of Sunday evening, 3/28, 47% voted for “All of the above” which included shotgun.

I would not say nobody is reloading shot shells. Almost half do.

Personnally, I load 12 ga,, 20 ga., 28 ga., and .410 bore. I used to shoot competitive skeet with all four gauges.

I have my Dad’s 16 ga side by side but I do not have the equipment to load 16 ga. shot shells.
