What ammo are you finding and for how much?

I know this thread has been going on for a while, but here's what I'm seeing:

5.56x45 - 78 cents a round (IMI Systems brass)
7.62x39 - 44 cents a round (Wolf performance steel)

All the other stuff has been so egregiously high I haven't felt like it would make sense to buy it

A couple weeks ago I bought two boxes of 230gr FMJ .45 ACP for $25/each, about $.50 round (about what it was pre-pandemic). But it's the last ammo I've seen on the shelf in the last two weeks! I don't have a .45ACP but my buddy does so I'll swap it for some .40 S&W ball ammo.

I did buy a some green tip at SGAmmo. It was $.80 a round, twice what it was a year ago. Didn't buy much, just wanted to maintain the cache a bit since I got a new upper.

Picked up a 500rd box of Winchester Wildcat 22lr for $29.99 and a 100rd Herters 9mm for $29.99 on Friday. They put out about a dozen boxes or so of the 22lr, guy asked if I wanted more than one, not sure what their limit was. The 22 is for the kid and the 9mm is for the wife to practice with her new carry

I just went in and found this at my LGS:
IMG_20210401_140708.jpg This is the first .38spl I have seen for sale in over a year. I don't shoot it much but I only have a few boxes and was glad to have found this. Not a bad price at all $30/50. The 12ga 00 Buck was not a bad price either, $32/25. I'm actually not even sure what the going rate was on 12ga buck before the crazy prices but I felt $32 wasn't too bad... I might pick up a couple more in the coming weeks....

Palmetto State Armory has .223 in stock (at this moment). They have some Hornady 55 gr and some steel-case Russian stuff.

Found some of this old stuff in the shop today for $12/box.... I'm pretty sure I remember seeing those when I went to gun shows as a kid with my dad in the 90's. Does anybody know if this stuff is any good or know when it stopped being available? Was this like the wolf equivalent back in the day? I pasted a couple images off the box in the photo as well....

Stumbled across a box of 50 - 9mm 115 grain FMJ today. I got the last box for $20.00..that's a pretty good deal considering it's selling for $30.00 and $45.00 for the same elsewhere.

so, on the labeling it says "1000rd stripper clips w/ magazines loaded". Not sure what that's about either..... magazines loaded?

Probably means you get a stripper clip guide, one of those stamped metal spoons they throw in to aid loading the clips into the mags, i.e. "Magazine Loader"

I just ordered some rifle ammo from SG Ammo and was pleasantly surprised to see how many different calibers were in stock, and the quantities available for some were pretty good.

If it's spec'ed as "5.56" it's NATO-compliant; if it's spec'ed as ".223 Rem" it's not. Sorry if this already answered; maybe that wasn't even the question. Ya, seen a lot; shot some today. ;)
Yeah they actually do. $600 for a case of Wolf .223 still kind of hurts and if I wasn't sitting on a few cases I would probably bite down hard and do it since that's the best I've seen in a while. I saw they had the IMI 77gr razorcore, if they had the 69gr razorcore I would have. It's the most accurate in my SS PSA

69 grains is pretty damn hard to find. lots of 55 around these days, esp steel case, and I got lucky and got a bunch of 75 just before Covid hit, but one of my rifles seems to not like anything but those middle weights. Well ... it's the Mini-14 ... what would you expect, eh?

Yeah I split a 200rd case of Black Hills 77gr MK262 with my uncle right before it went sideways, like $.80/rd. I had some Fiocchi 77 SMK's and shot most of it before the nonsense, kind of wish I savored it more but that stuff wasn't as accurate as the BH or IMI for whatever reason. I favor the 69gr for accuracy, 55gr for blasting. Even before it was kind of hard for me to get my hands on 69gr.

I have noticed alot of wolf steel case .223 coming back on the scene. I was kind of hoping the wolf 9mm I ordered just shy of a year ago would come in, it's from Sportsman's Warehouse so there is a better than good chance that after all this waiting I'll probably have to decline the order. I'd be very surprised if it was anywhere close to the pre-order price quoted, and I'm not paying $500+ for a case. Maybe when I'm closer to being out, but when I ordered it it was less than $190

Stopped by my local Walmart and they had one box of Federal 308 for 17 dollars and a case of Federal 22lr 325 boxes limit 3 per person, for 17.95 a box. I limited out.

Stopped by the LGS today and won the lottery, again.

They had Remington Range 9mm in 115gr FMJ and Winchester 5.56 M193 55gr FMJ. 9mm was higher at $16.99 per 50, and the WWB was $14.99 for 20.

I've been able to stumble across ammo there about once a month or so. Still no primers. Clerk said they haven't gotten primers since October.

Ammo is still scarce enough that they keep the pistol and 5.56 behind the counter due to theft...

My LGS just posted some more federal .38spl and .380ACP. $30/50 and $35/50 respectively. I'm going to pick up some .380 provided I'm the first one there. I shot my G44 .22lr today and then emptied my pocket gun, LCP .380. It's been about a year since I shot my .380 and I rang the plate 7 times at 25 ft. What I always liked about that gun, small as it is, I can put em where I want em...

Was able to pick up 1000 rounds of CCI Minimag today. .22LR is pretty scarce in my part of Kentucky. the same shop wanted a dollar a round for .380 and zero .38 Special and .357 mag. Not even any .22 magnum to be found. Plenty of centerfire rifle ammo though. No buckshot in anything but 12 gauge.
