Has anybody fired coated lead bullets from their 10mm?

I just received a batch of ACME RNFP coated lead 180 grain bullets. I typically use them on my 40 S&W.

I read in my 10mm owner's manual to NOT run lead bullets through the firearm, but a few things; 1. thinking that is probably just them covering their butts, 2. ACME bullets are coated so you can push them faster without leading issues. I'm thinking of using Power Pistol (as there is no published load data for Sport Pistol and 10mm), W231, or CFE Pistol since I have seen load data for each of those powders.

I've run ACME on my 357's without issue and they run a similar speeds to the 10mm

TIA

The short answer is yes.

The more complicated answer is that I remember loading some so I went back through my log and found that on July 14, 2020 I loaded 50 rounds with 140 grain IDP#7 bullets from Missouri Bullet Company on top of 9.2 grains of HS-6. I based the load on Hornady data with notes regarding both Nosler and Hodgdon data. Ten shots over my chronograph resulted in an average velocity of 1,218.56 fps. I didn't make any other notes regarding accuracy or how they functioned. I get the feeling that this is an as of yet incomplete load development project.

Good luck and be safe!

I plan to powder coat my bullets for my 10mm when I start to reload them. Mine 10mm is a recent acquisition and bought a ton of factory ammo before the shortage, when I run out is when I will start. I don't remember reading in my manual not use powder coated bullets. Mine is the Springfield TRP long slide. I wonder why?

Was just wondering if it was a Glock with polygonal rifling , but would think the coating would solve that problem. Sorry , I have no experience with coated bullets . I shoot a lot of 10mm and 38 Super with Berrys thick plated good to 1500 , much cheaper than jacketed but don’t group quite as well .

Gloss black powder-coated (Eastwood) 145gr SWC (wheel weights/Lee mold) over Power Pistol has proven to be accurate, despite also being quite blasty.

The barrel remains clean.

yup

drive those as hard as 1350 from my 6" with no issues.

I've used 180gr coated bullets from Brazos, B&B and Black Bullets in three 10mms without issue. I've pushed them to just over 1,330fps so far. But none of my firearms are a DE or Gluck.

I've pushed 320gr MBC coated ones to 1,400fps so far in my 460S&W. No issues, no regerts.

THX all. Got my ACME 180gr RNFP coated projectiles today. I'll be doing a test load of 50 using CFE pistol and Power Pistol as there is published data using those powders. The upside as that powder requirements for lead projectiles is lower than FMJ or plated bullets. I suspect the PP will perform better, but CFE is only slightly slower.

Almost 5k of 180gr SWC loads using Power pistol. 95% of her diet full power loads.

I will say after fixing the loose sights today I'm not sure I'll run any more 155gr Boomers through it.

Edit to add: coated bullets can go as fast as jacketed. All I ever shoot is coated any more.

Normally shooting power pistol is loud. I love the performance, but it always sounds loud. On 10mm though, it doesn't sound loud at all. No crack when I pull the trigger. Just a solid boom, which is great.
