Dynamit Nobel 1075 plus. $5 per 100. I think the fine folks at Fleet Farm mispriced them as I'm seeing them sell for $10.99 elsewhere.

Anyways, I bought about 2000 of these caps. Just wondering if any members have experience with these and your opinions. To my understanding they're basically hot #11's.

I just ordered some Track of the Wolf SS nipples, which according to thier website, lists these 1075's as a good fit. Anyone use SlixShot, Treso or Track's with these? If so, hows the fit?

I'll find out soon enough. But I'm curious on your folks experience. Thanks.

I just have factory nipples on my pietta 1858, and when I bought the gun it came with a tin of 100 of the Nobel 1075 primers that you are talking about. Worked great. When I ran out I tried cci, Remington, and some other brand and I was not impressed. Lots of duds and bad fit, now the Nobel caps are the only brand I buy. Great fit, and I think I’ve only ever had one fail to go off after tins and tins of them.

What do you pay in your area?

Aside from the original question, I'm also kind of curious how folks are doing with availability in thier neck of the woods.

Fit and function is the main question though. Thanks THR.

Hmm I dunno, I haven’t seen components available in person (Charlotte area, North Carolina) since covid started. Like you I ordered a few thousand online that I’ve been working my way through. Sorry, really don’t remember what I paid.

I have the 1075 plus version and they work well with slixshots.

These caps sometimes take two strikes on Treso nipples, a firm push with a dowel to seat them seems to help...

I've found them to be a loose fit on all factory nipples I've tried, but they work with a little pinch.

I believe the dimensions are slightly different on the 1075 plus vs regular 1075's but I'm not positive.

I picked up a thousand of those last summer when I got my '51 Navy reproduction, since they were the only thing available at the time. They are the only caps I have any experience with, but aside from the fact that I recall them being a bit more expensive than other brands, I can't see any reason to change. I'm still using the stock nipples, and I haven't had any problems with them. They don't need to be pinched or anything like that to stay on the nipple, even though I've heard people recommend #10s for the stock nipples on that gun. Once in a while I'll have one that doesn't go off due to not being seated quite firmly enough, but I'll chalk that up to me reloading in a hurry because they always fit snug when I do my part. In that case, I just come back around and shoot it again - after the hammer presses it in place the first time, it ignites the second time without fail.

Just did a range test with them.
Your experience with the RWS 1075's seems to echo many others I've read: very hot, frequent failures to fire.

My personal experience has been fine. A few FTF's on my first cylinder, but I attributed that (correctly, it seems) to me not seating them well enough. After that 1st cylinder, I used a dowel to seat them and all was well. I have aftermarket nipples on a Pietta 1858 (don't remember which brand, got 'em at ToW), and I used the 1075's on a TC Hawken .45 as well (no FTF's on the rifle).

Admittedly, I have shot fewer than 100 so far... perhaps I'm banking future disappointment! But so far so good.

Once again, a straightforward & honest - and therefore helpful - video. Thanks.

20210406_195044.jpg I just keep picking up 1000 when I make the trip into town. I'll worry about the fit later lol. And I'll be sure to post up a range report with the stock Pietta nipples and TotW nipples.

One question I'm still curious about, how is cap availability in your area?

Have three boxes of these. They work fine on several different revolvers.
Made in Germany but not labeled Dynamite Nobel.

Same product different packaging,?, just curious if it’s different or old product.

I think that one difference is that yours contain 250 caps per tin compared to 100 per tin.
One sleeve contains a total of 2500 while the other sleeve contains 1000.
Your package is labeled "Value Pack."
They may be older but some vendors still show the red tins of 100 even though they're out of stock.
Do yours have a U stamped on them as in the Sportsman's Warehouse photo?

Since then, we have been under the purview of RUAG Ammotec GmbH and have produced a wide range of products based on explosive compounds.........."

Perhaps RWS modified either product specifications, packaging, both or neither?

I found the exact same thing at my local fleet. Called a buddy who is into BP. long story short. I went home with a thousand or so as well. The entire bin was full (the only one) they must have had 10,000 on the shelf. Word must have gotten out because the next day the shelf was empty.

These came from Midway mid to late “20”.
U on each cap with green compound.

New stock I assume as they aren’t Dynamite Noble but Raug Ammotec. Any way they work just fine actually somewhat more sensitive than CCI 11’s.

I bought a bunch of those 1075+ last year along with the Track of the Wolf SS nipples that are supposed to be a great fit. Turns out they're an awful fit, they are way too tight. Even seating them with a dowel as hard as I can doesn't work. They'll only go off after all caps have been seated by a hammer blow.
I've had much better luck with the 1075+/ Slixshot combo. I still have to seat them hard with a dowel but at least they work 90% of the time after that.

Dang it. Yeah from their website: "Truly precision turned, our nipples have tapered cones made to perfectly fit the CCI brand No. 11 standard cap, or the identical Dynamit - Nobel RWS brand No. 1075 (red label) cap. Remington No. 11 caps are a tiny bit larger, an easy fit. Track has improved the fit, and extended the life of our percussion nipples."

So I figured they'd work with 1075 plus. May have to return them and go with SlixShot if that's the case.

I keep telling myself maybe my Track of the Wolf nipples weren't turned correctly or they accidentally put the wrong nipples inside the correctly labeled bag. So I'm curious how yours work with those 1075s. Let us know!

You can chuck the nipple in a drill motor and use a file to dress them down if the fit is too tight. Nipples aren't hard metal. I have done that with nipples that someone had sat around and dry fired on.

So what nipples do they fit the best. My underhammer loves rem no10 cci no10 work but are very tight but fire fine after a good push with my wooden dowel. My asm 51 like the cci no10 there a bit tight but there new nipples.

I'm trying to get a 5.5 rem 58 or a walker. I remember my uberti 58 liked rem no10s.
