Planning to load some 115GR 9mm and 240 GR 44 Special bullets from Acme.
Do I use the loads that are listed for cast lead?
I was planning on using Titegroup 4gr for each, which would be a nice light load.

Coated, plated and cast generally get the same starting load and approach similar max loads so, yes, use cast data - unless the manufacturer says otherwise. ACME's statement is as follows: "PLEASE NOTE: Due to liability reasons we DO NOT give load data. There are many sources available to you as reloaders including various reloading manuals, forums, powder manufacturers, Loaddata.com and fellow shooters." I am pretty sure Hodgdon, Western, Ramshot, Alliant and Accurate all list ACME bullet loads.

Hodgdon's data for Titegroup with a 0.356" LRN in 9x19mm - OAL: 1.100" Start: 3.9 1,075 25,800 CUP Max: 4.3 1,151 30,500 CUP Your 4gr. load is right on the starting line. Good choice. :)

Start with cast data and work up if data listing Acme bullets is not available. Newer data lists sometimes include Acme in load data options.

As long as you work up, you’ll be fine.

In .44 Spl. that’s about at minimum for loading a 240. It’ll probably pop out with little recoil or much blast.

When you get out to the range let us know how they shoot for you.

Stay safe.

I'm trying out a few rounds tomorrow.

Wow, just measured out 4gr of titegroup.
It looks like such a small charge!
I've never used it before. Usually use universal, clays and accurate #2
And now you know why it’s easy to double or even triple charge. Titegroup’s a good powder, just needs a bit more respect than some other more forgiving powders. Glad to hear the range trip was successful and it sounds like you’re discovering what a lot of the competition crowd favors - heavy bullets and fast powders! Good luck.

It's the first tine I used Titegroup, the load range is so narrow I was afraid I might over charge them. I have a powder measure now so the process is much more accurate.

In reloading the Acme Hi-Tech coated or lipstick .401 caliber bullets I can not get acceptable groups. I have tried different powders and charged loads. When loading the .40 with your 180 gr bullet the very best group ( from a rest ) is a 1 1/2 " to 2" group at 15 yds. Same gun will shoot FMJ bullets with all holes touching at 15 yds. The same bullet ( lipstick ) when loaded in a 10mm does a little better, 1" group at 15 yds. These were shot in a Springfield with a 5.5 " barrel. Can anyone provide me with load data that will give better accuracy or is the best I can expect ? This was my first go with the Acme Hi-Tech bullets,

And this is why I hesitate to recommend TG to a first time reloader. Not insinuating that you are a first timer, I just don't recommend it. Sometimes, the difference between min and max is very small so it's less forgiving. Never mind that its also easy to fit a double charge in many cases. Be safe :)

I had trouble with T.G and coated cast leading in 9mm and .380. Maybe Acmes coating is better and it might be ok. I would load 25 or so. Test fire in the 9mm. And check the bore for lead. It did ok in larger calibers. Some leading but took awhile to show.
