My Best Dog Ever Passed Today

I’m sorry to hear that. Prayers out for you and family. I lost Jaxson my German Shepard last year. It’s hard on a person with a heart for sure. I just recently got another dog and he is a joy to the family. Now I’m glad I moved forward. I was pretty hesitant but my daughters really pushed me. Probably needed it

2021 has been rough at our house this year. One Jagdterrier “Belle” one old cat “Romeo” and I had to put down my wife’s Mare “Tika” last week. Sorry for your hunting buddy Pato.

Just seeing this. So sorry to hear about your loss. What a truly wonderful companion and hunter She was.

Many dogs would love to have been as fortunate as she. To have lived the life you gave Her and for you to have received all the enrichments She returned.

Each and every one of us who have shared time with beloved pets...know your pain. It conjures up old memories of our own departed friends. So...in some ways it opens old wounds when someone posts of their recent loss and we read of it.

But you know what, it ALSO brings back fond memories. And that is what I always choose to remember about the animals I have loved and lost.

I know with all my heart they would not want me to be unhappy or grieve without end.

I like to believe that someday we will be reunited. At least I pray that is so. And I pray that each and every person who has taken on the responsibility of caring for a pet, would do so in a way that provides the best life possible. It is clear to me....you did that for Her. Well done Sir!

I had to watch my Sheltie die a few years ago. He got bone cancer in his nasal cavity. First time I'd ever seen this in a dog. Died 6 months after diagnosis. Hardest thing I ever had to go through. The survival rate for this disease is just about zero. If your fur buddy gets this disease you're probably better off having him put down.
