Illinois has too many guns! Blame Indiana's loose gun laws!

There were almost 7 times the number of guns sold in Illinois than in Indiana. What about that story line of everyone going from Illinois to Indiana to buy their guns?
Oh, and I did just have to leave Fla on the list. ;)
 
That story comes from Illinois' first black, openly gay, hypocritical, clueless mayor to whom truth is no more important than it is to Lester Holt, 60 Minutes or most of the media. Proven wrong time and again she blunders on. One of the main problems in Chicago is the head prosecutor Kim Foxx, also known as catch and release Foxx. The Gov recently signed into law a police weakening wreck of legislation promoted by the black caucus. Sad to say, I'm stuck here.
 
I find the sales numbers interesting. Keeping in mind this was only sales for ONE MONTH during a time when most dealers shelves are bare. I wonder how much of the numbers are being influenced by people's perceived lack of police protection. If you ever want to drive gun sales, have politicians on TV droaning on about gun control while the evening news shows buildings burning and people being victimized by criminals freshly turned out from jail.
 
A certain amount may be due to population numbers, but I find it interesting that places where you expect hunting to be prevalent, numbers were small.

I figure places like that, i.e., N & S Dakota, Wyoming, Nebraska, Maine, etc., they already got their guns.
 
I've heard this line of reasoning time and time again without any data to back it up. With your posting it seems ad if that is why there never seems to be any data. The data to back up the claims does not exist, in fact it is quite the opposite. No surprise.

I worked procurement in Alaska for a few years, can't tell you how many times looked at my address and thought I was in Arkansas.
 
The numbers are only those that used NICS, too.
Something like 35 States have unfettered FTF sales as well, that would have not gone through NICS.
It would also be interesting to know how the POC States report their data to NICS.

These numbers will be blurred by non-sales NICS checks (over cautious retailers, pawns, etc) This may balance the FTF numbers. Maybe. Perhaps.

Still, some interesting data to chew upon.

Actualy, the "Gunz is kummin from Indy-nanner" dates back to Emperor Daley, Jr's time, if memory serves.

Well, I do know Fla is a POC state, we run all through FDLE, so there must be some reporting back and forth. Also, can't go by simply total number of br checks because pawns get br checked as well as sales, although there is a place on the br check form for sales or pawn redemption.
 
I just want to say, it's about time another State beside Florida is blamed for supplying their State with too many illegal guns :)

Uh, oh... Maybe Governor for life Cuomo isn't reading this?... :)
 
I worked a trip with a guy who grew up near C., and said that his brother was an Asst. Police Chief in some part of Chicago. This was about eight years ago.

This coworker told me that if it were now illegal to buy any guns - after naming IN or WI as a major part of the problem - then the supply of guns to the Criminals of Chicago would dry up in about twenty years or so.

That is exactly what he told me, therefore I didn't try to refute it at all, and give him some sort of satisfaction. Luckily he didn't work any more trips with me. There would have been a silent wall over the throttle quadrant.
We have read about the conformity of some Police Chiefs to the Mayors they work for.
