Beretta 687 Gold???

I bought this used off GB three years ago. It’s a 687. I’ve never seen one like it before. I did see one on GB a month or so ago. The seller stated that the gun was rare and that Beretta only made this model for a year (1980). I’ve heard that this variant was only made and sold in Europe, but I’ve never been able to confirm that. The wood would pretty much match what Beretta calls 2.5 grade today. The toe of the stock has a brass inset that some people have their initials engraved on. The stock has a gloss finish. Overall, I would rate the gun around 98% with the usual handling marks. I paid $1500 for it. Can anyone give me any additional information about this gun?

I expect it is. May be worth quite a bit more if it’s as rare as the recent seller on GB said...just can’t find out much at all about this model.

Thank you. The barrels are 28”. The chokes are the Beretta Mobil chokes.
