Factory Squib

I was shooting Winchester white box 45 through a Hipoint carbine a few years ago when I had one round that was much quieter and softer recoiling than the others. I checked my barrel and it was ok but I expected to find a squib

You always have to be vigilant whether it’s factory or reloaded/remanufactured. And it isn’t limited to .22. That is impressive to have it sticking out of the end of the barrel.
Speed of gravity.
Not to nit pick, but it would depend on high the gun was from the ground since gravity is an acceleration. Still, very true!

It would have to be in a vacuum or it would experience drag , many variables .

Seriously, I try to keep .22 ammo fairly fresh and I'm careful about where I store them. How long have you had these rounds?

I've had more trouble with no-fire and such with rimfires.

Trust me when I say I understand perfectly well the possible variables, and most of them went through my head when I saw the question. Fun little story - my college prof for advanced physics was a graduate student working on the Manhattan project using diffusion to enrich U235. He was probably getting close to retirement, but a great professor (unlike most).

Date on the box is Jun 2018. Stored in the man-cave. Dry and 65-75 year round. We heat and cool (especially to control the humidity), but not too drastic.
