I've never ordered from Sarco before but two weeks ago I bought a pistol online from them. Well they haven't shipped it yet and ignored my first email and then finally replied after a second, mentioned Corona, assured me that it would ship last Friday. Well, it hasn't. So I called today and asked and was told they didn't "know where it is" but it was marked as processed so it's "either been picked out for packaging and shipping or has been packaged but not shipped." I was told this was done a few days after ordering. I asked when it would go out and they said "probably in 48 hours give or take." I pointed out it had been about two weeks and asked to confirm it would go out this week and was told they couldn't confirm that and to wait. Now, the Corona thing is a sort of valid excuse but looking up reviews of Sarco this excuse doesn't seem to fly as I've found reviews and complaints dating as far back as 2004 saying they sometimes take up to 60 days to ship and people get the wrong item... or they just keep saying 'any day now' and nothing comes... and that this is their norm. I really wish I had done some research before buying from them. I've even read about them canceling orders on people without notice and refusing to refund or taking returned items and refusing refund. Now I'm afraid I won't get my gun and the worst part is I impulse bought a spare mag and ammo for it... from companies that seemingly have no issues with the whole Corona blanket excuse because I received these items in less than a week.
Anybody have experience with SARCO?

Within the past month I ordered a Browning Double Auto forend from them. I had a similar delay and no response to an email. Called and spoke to a very pleasant woman who said they are running later than usual and asked me to give it a week. I did and it arrived before the week was out.

It'll be a while before you can expect fast service anywhere. It's really tough for any retail business to find employees right now. I'm going back to work at the LGS tomorrow after being on leave because of Covid. They can't find anyone to work because unemployment is $600+ a week through Labor Day if not longer. I'll be giving up over a grand a month by going back.

We're spoiled today.

I remember filling out an order form and mailing it, along with a check and then waiting 6-8 weeks with NO idea when my stuff was gonna show up.
The Amazon effect hits me sometimes, too, and I forget about those mail-order days.

So far I’ve only been stiffed once, but that was on a toolbox that wasn’t ever shipped by a slick scammer and I got my $$ back.

Hopefully Sarco comes through soon for the OP.

Once it comes in let us know your impressions of the gun you bought and how it shoots for you.

Stay safe.

Sarco has come through for me in the last two months with two orders, one triggered by a "item now in stock" notification from them.

Sarco will ship but they are slower than other online companies.

i bought a spring kit that was advertised as in-stock, ready to ship. Took about two weeks to ship. This was over the summer.

I’ve dealt with Sarco, but only at their retail store in Easton, PA and at gun shows. All dealings with them have been entirely positive. I’ll definitely be following the thread to see your result, I hope it works out for you.

Apparently some things simply don't change. I was buying from SARCO during the early to mid 90s. Mostly M14 and M1 Garand parts. WE had the same complaints then as I see now but in their defense they always delivered, albeit slow but they did always deliver for me.

Sarco has always been "controlled chaos." I witnessed this in person in the early 1980's, when I made the pilgrimage to their old New Jersey location. They're honest enough, but give them time.

BTW, the same applies to Numrich (Gun Parts Corporation).

They gave me a tracking number presumably to get me to shutup but it's kind of pointless because it's not an active one. The old "label has been created but shipment not received" message. So really nothing different from the fact it was supposedly "picked" or packaged to ship shortly after ordering. I also received an email after contacting them again where they asked me to "give them another 7 to 10 days." Corona or not, about a month to ship a firearm is kind of a big oof.

SARCO is the place where they suddenly have a box of something rare and odd for sale and it turns out they always had it, literally lost in one of their many warehouses. How they run the business like this I'll never know, but they do.

Likewise, they will (or at least used to) entertain calls to find stuff not cataloged. Need an obscure part, call them up, they will send someone to look for it in the bin of parts for that gun, eventually. Maybe they call to say they have it and get a card number three weeks later.

Agree, randomly slow (sometimes I get stuff 2 days later, sometimes 4 weeks) but it always arrives.

I also agree that it's one of those that's best to pretend it's 1974. Pretend you found an ad in the back of a magazine, tore it out, wrote on it in ballpoint pen, added a check and then months later a box arrives.

This has been my pre-pandemic experience with both companies as well. Place your order. They'll get it off eventually. Never had to wait more than a month, but usually two weeks or more, before they actually shipped it.

I've had limited but acceptable experiences with Sarco. Slow and less than ideal comms, but I've gotten what I ordered.

It's only been two weeks? Yeah a bit of patience would help. I got my order from them last week and I was happy that it took three weeks because i was expecting to get it a month later.

Ordered a parts kit from Sarco, they shipped the kit with a "substitute" part, without asking. So, basically, the entire kit was worthless.

Over the past 3 months I have had tracking numbers issued by Midway,PSA and Classic Firearms that were not activated yet. A little more patience is needed at the moment. They have you calling and maybe 400 others. That is only going to slow the process down. As stated its kind of hard to hire new help to deal with this RECORD HIGH demand when folk make more on unemployment then they do at a job.

I've ordered a fair amount from them over the years. They've always been slow, but what eventually arrived was always correct and there were no problems with billing.

I will note that there was no additional delay with orders containing FFL items, and the split orders arrived at my house and my local gun shop without problems.
