BCM Upper & Lower Movement

Hey guys, I just bought a brand new BCM RECCE 14 and noticed slight movement between the upper and lower receiver. I never noticed it before until today. I haven’t even shot the gun yet. Is this ok?
I also have a RECCE 16 that has absolutely no movement at all.

Yes, perfectly normal, and by design. If they were fit to tightly, they wouldn't be swappable or as easily strippable.

And when things get hot they expand...

No issue, IF it bothers you get an "accuracy" wedge:

You can also try the "O" ring trick:

It doesn't bother me personally of my factory guns, as edwardware said, it's by design. All of my "home builds" use Aero lowers and they have a nylon screw adjustment to take the slop out.

The easiest way to remove the slop between the upper and lower is to insert a loaded magazine

Thanks for that link. I've come to the same conclusion in 35+ years of shooting ARs (mostly bench guns). Good to see it validated.
