Very nice! I prefer the 75 you have in the pic. But not by much. Definately a design that has stood the test of time.

Very happy Nature Boy that you got the CZ97. It’s nice to get something you enjoy. I like CZ products. They always seem to shoot well.

I had a Highpower and quickly sold it. I didn't hate it, but it did nothing for me. I love CZ 75's and clones.

Once I got this my high-power was on its way out, same niche, way better trigger, doesn't slide bite me.

In the CZ family, if they ever release the DWX it'll be the same deal, the compact was of particular interest but I just couldn't wait.

Pretty gun (in the pic), but I would take the Highpower over any 1911, doesn't matter who makes it, and a CZ or clone over that. My dream gun is a Sphinx AT2000 or the successor gun made now, and I can't think of the name of it right now..

Fair enough, I don't care for the CZ clones because of the safety location. De-cocked is fine, but I prefer other DA triggers to CZ.

The Wilson gives the wonderful 1911 trigger, not the heavy mush fest of the BHP, with 15 rounds in Glock 19 size and absolute reliability, with longer 18 round mags. It's nice.

The high power always slide bites the heck out of me, the trigger is decidedly "meh", even with the mag release removed, way too heavy for how well it shoots (I find my Glocks shoot flatter and, frankly, more pleasantly) and carried. Mine was a bit picky about ammo both with occasional FTFs and horrid accuracy with 147 grain ammo. It is a wonderful feel in the hand, and a truly striking gun to look at though.

Interesting side note, just got the call that my BHP sold on consignment last night, so I guess I'm out of this discussion now, and have to think on if I have anything I desperately need for $1000.

Phoenix razorback.
I think and I might be wrong, but I believe Sphinx as a company is done and one of founders started Phoenix.

You could squirrel that 1k away for a DWX.

Surprised my wife by deciding to spend some of my "gun money" on a shiny thing for her on our anniversary.

So it's significantly less than $1000 now :)

I really like the idea of the DWX, and if they had released early 2020 like they had initially planned I'd have one, but I bought the Wilson instead. I've apparently entered my HK stage so I've been pondering a used P2000 the shop had a while back. Probably gone by now though.

Edit:. Also the namesake of this thread, CZ 97 has been on my short list for a while, might go that direction.

I have a just a few CZs all have been tricked out with CGW goodies. The 97 is by far my favorite, it beats out my Shadow 2.
The one complaint about the 97 is grip size, I have med to large glove wearing hands and don't have an issue with it.

The Tanfoglio line of 45 ACP pistols share the same mag but due to the way the hammer spring is the frame is smaller in size.

My favorite semiautos are all steel "classic" CZ clones and variants. I have 2 fullsized Tanfoglio 9mm, a compact, 2 Jericho 941's, and a Witness .45. Right behind them is my Sig P226 Stainless Elite, then my S&W 5906, 4506, 6906. The aluminum framed Sigs follow, and then the polymer SAR CM9 G2, and Taurus PT111 G2 for cheap fun. But the all steel guns will be the last semiautos I would ever sell The last gun I will let go when it's time will be my Dan Wesson 715. I shoot it better than any other gun I own.

Taking my 2 CZs out for a test drive today! Both have upgraded bushings now, and need me to get off some ammo! The 10X bushing I installed in my 75B SA, was pretty straight forward, easy to do, but makes the barrel a PITA to remove and install. Thanks to CGW, my ammo supply and wallet, are lighter:)

KRISS USA carries the SPHINX line with the SDP Compact and the SDP Duty. Retail prices range from $999 to $1019. To me they look more like the CZ P07 than anything else.

Let us know how it goes
Both guns ran flawless, but not me!! I am soooo rusty, it took me 50rds per gun to start shooting same hole groups again, and this is at 30'.... Both guns are more accurate then they started out, could never stack rounds with either pistol before the bushing upgrades:) I definitely like the stock sights on my 75B, and P239, over the narrow front sight/target rear on the 97B. I don't like daylight on the edges I realize, the Siglite sights were the easiest for me to be accurate with.

I have one(SDP), but what I meant is the new Phoenix Redback. I can say right now, unless there is a lottery win in my future, I'll never have one. I'll go $1000 or so on a gun, but not more. The one I want is the all SS one:

But I would possibly go for a nice used Sphinx AT2000.
