Wow! That is one sweet trio you have there .

All of my 1894’s have several million previous copies that came before them, none are as original as yours are. :)

Hopefully you’ll fill the freezer with one of those vintage beauties this fall. ;)

Stay safe.

Nice looking rifles! It shouldn't be any different hunting with those than a new 30-30.

I took my last deer two years ago with my 93 Marlin in 38-55. Biggest trouble I had was a 26" barrel and fine sights, I had a hard time seeing them.
Killed a small buck at 100 yards, my shot placement wasn't great and he went about 75 yards before going down. My ammo was some 50 year old Peters 255 grain stuff that one round never went off. Fresher ammo I felt would have helped.
Grandpa gave us the rifle when I was a little boy, I was 77 when I took the deer. Don't know why I waited so long to use it on a hunt but I'm glad I did use it. Think Granddad may have helped line the sights up for me.

Only with the 94 30-30. I just recently acquired a 94-22M, now I have 2 winchesters.

Nice vintage Winchesters you have there Fishguts....

I'm hoping Ruger resurrects Marlin's Cowboy models and makes one in 38-55. If I had to I think I'd cull a Henry to make space for it.

Good that you take your historic guns for a walk once in a while. At left is a 32 spl that was in person handed down to me by an Uncle. Next is a 30wcf with a stock that my father hand carved from Birdseye maple, finished using broken glass to shape the wood. They hunted together, me and the boys make a point to take these out. Next is a button mag shotgun butt 38-55 src that I just really like. Last is a basket case 92 with a numrich 44 barrel that I need to put on the lathe and fit. It had been refinished and then neglected, extra holes in receiver etc. I have drawfiled, stoned, rust blued it and may take dads stock from the 94 and use it on the 92. The handmade stock was a reject, found discarded in our shed as it had checked. It has a sister on a 32ws 94 which is perfect, I bought the gun it’s on now at a show just to have a place to keep it. Thought it might be nice on something I had made. These old guns need company to honor those who came before.

Heres a pic of my old Winchester levers 2 mod 94 38-55s and one mod 92 38-40 first year manufacture. im gonna try for a deer this fall with a 38-55.anyone here ever hunt with one of these era guns?

If only those rifles could talk, imagine the story’s they could tell. Vary nice group.
My father gave me a 70’s era 94 when I was 13 years old. It’s long been gone and always wanted to replace it. Well finally I have a model 94,1950 30 WCF carbine coming next week sometime.
I will be watching the tracking everyday with anticipation
