That the Mossberg 590 range of shotguns would become unobtanium, and selling for over $1,000 second hand. I mean wow. I bought my 500 with the 18" and 28" barrels for $399. Yeah it was years ago, but this is nuts. I assume they're so hard to find because the factory was forced to cease operations for a period of time last year? When is the last time any of you have seen any 590 at your LGS?

Granted I haven't been looking real hard, but I have wanted a 590a1 for awhile, just never pulled the trigger. Of all the guns out there, I never expected a run on shotguns.

I wanted a Mossberg 930, last summer , I started looking. None to be found, called a gunshop 30 miles away, to see if they had any. They had a new 930 Sluggster , got it and ordered a turkey barrel on line, last one they had. Lucked out and got a nice shotgun, it's hard to find guns now.I wouldn't take 1000 dollars for it. Good luck on your search.

I can see the 590 series being very popular but the shockwave model is pushing the limit on price. Right now anything other that a single shot shotgun is disappearing off the shelf. LGS had a very old Mossberg made "new haven" with a chopped barrel sell for near $400 (with a box of shells). I expect anything that shoots may sell if ammo is offered with it.

I guess I will have to see what my Remington Tac-14 in 20 gauge is worth. I bought it thinking it would work well for me in my wheel chair. It really doesn't fit well for my wanted application. Time to sell it - perhaps here in the listings.

Throw in a box of ammo as that seems to do the trick. Seeing guys selling stuff left and right with ammo included. Bet short , but still legal, shotguns are next on the lefts agenda.

I sold an older 20g 500 with about 500 rounds about a year ago for $300. Thought i was doing pretty good getting $100 more for it than I had into it. Not feeling too bad about it. Went to someone who needed a shotgun and had none.

I recently bought a 590 tactical at my LGS for about $515. It was the listed MSRP from Mossberg but I felt fortunate to find one and happily paid that for it.

Good idea . Ammo has to ship separately however which for a box would seem to make shipping a bit high. I tried making the gun work out better by putting a brace on it, but that didn't work out well for me either. Now that they may well become illegal I took it off . I see ones for sale yet on GB for the tac-14 , but I would think them risky to buy. Unless ones that fit the Shock Wave and Tac-14 since they are not for pistols squeak through ? I am unclear about present legal status? Asking prices for Tac-14's are from $700 to over $1,000. There are some that are being bid on so hard to say what they will bring. I didn't see a 20 gauge for sale. I put a commercial hand strap on the forearm to help hold it down - have original box and all that came with it -same for the brace. Shot just short of a box of 25 through it. As soon as I find a proper shipping box I will likely list it on the sale part of the forum. It will be at a non scalping price if and when I put it for sale.

In all fairness you could put it out as a penny auction and wind up getting huge bucks for it. Shipping costs now seem the least of buyers problems. Its the net tax that's the new killer in all but 5 states. With some at near 11% think its having an effect.

I bought my brand new 410 Mossberg 500 for $149, I won't say how long ago that was though :D Bought my 410 Shockwave in Dec 2019 for $350.
