Those of us who have a good supply should simply not buy at this time. Those that are new to shooting either don’t have any choice or don’t know any better.

A personal friend just retired as a Vaccine Nurse Manager.

Most people seem unaware that many adults have reactions to other vaccines, such as flu, pneumonia , mumps etc.

——This is ::::despite::::those Other vaccines’ Much longer evaluation time spans:oops:..........and many of those same people are in the group having weird reactions to these Wuhan/COVID vaccines.......

Guns: That’s good that you could attend a gun show for the entertainment.
Our local gun shows have not restarted.

I've heard the same thing from employees too. With work, I can not wait in a line for a store to open to pick up supplies or ammo. I just wish the stores would put out the merchandise throughout the day and not have it ready when the doors open.
Agreed. Our local Bass Pro follows the same routine every day. Put out ammo and primers and powder. Customers lining up outside. BP employee goes out and gives each person a number. Open doors. #1 gets to go in first to get his limit of merch. Then #2. Etc.

But everything's gone within an hour. As you say, not everyone is able to hang out in line in the mornings.

Just wait 18 months and count noses.

Giving credit where credit is due: I'm fortunate enough to live near to two relatively large gun/sporting goods stores and, during a time when they could legally (and morally, if fundamentalist capitalism makes greed justifiable) make a lot of money by gouging their customers, they didn't. The only inhibition to sales was limiting the sale of ammunition so that all could have some instead of some having all.
Kudos to the Sportsman's Den in Shelby, Ohio and to the Fin Feather Fur Outfitters in Ashland, Ohio.

Who wouda ever thunk of buying ammo as an investment ? Moreover, does the idea of exchanging any goods for questionable dollars right now give anyone pause?

Gun shows are and always have been an "alternative entertainment experience." If you go to half a dozen a year and carry your "gun fund cash" (outside of normal house money) with you, once in awhile a great bargain presents. Last one for me was a little under 2 years ago at the Orlando show of all places, new Kahr P9 for $220 OTD. She also had new Beretta PX4 9mm subcompacts for $329, had the money but passed. SMH. Joe

Stopped by local store today and was flat shocked. WW .308 and Belum brass cased boxer primed Serbian, 7.62x39 filling two complete shelves. Pistol case was just as full as last week, No body was around either. Either a fluke or ?

If one puts ammo on a site like GB and starts it at a penny with no reserve, then fair enough. The price ends up where the market says it should be, on that day.

It is my opinion that you have the direction of bending over reversed. I'll revert to a slingshot and rocks before paying the prices of today.

The smooth river rocks are still affordable but those jagged tactical rocks, have you seen the prices?

I would be forging scrap steel into spearheads and arrowheads before paying some of the ammo prices found lately. Just sayi'n.

Just waiting for one to open up locally though. If for nothing more than the entry fee keeping the tradition alive for the future generations.

I can pick up all the jagged tactical rocks I want for free. I would have to buy smooth river rocks. The nearest river is the Pecos but there are few rocks to be found along it in this area. I might scare up some Pecos Valley diamonds though. Those things would smart.

Above is the Federal Reserve "M1 Supply of Money" chart. Things have tilted upwards lately, and as a result they've recently stopped updating the chart! To answer your first question, I do not see ammo as currency, other than trading around with people in the hobby on a limited basis.
