Nice! I just built an AR-10 in 6.5CM on a AP set... I have an Odin Works barrel and adjustable gas block. My previous build... a .308 with a BA 18" middy barrel, as a matter of fact... was seriously over-gassed... I should have put an adjustable gas block on it.
Good looking rifle !
FWIW... don't be surprised if it "needs" a break in period for 100% function.
I did not. Didn't know that was a thing.
Just read an article about it. What brand tool did you use?
I dont think it is worth buying the tool to lap a receiver for one or two builds. Also I have two builds, neither lapped, and I can easily hit a soda can at 200 yds. So not losing any sleep here.
Nice looking rifle. I have a simlar muzzle brake on my Ar15 in 223 and 300 blackout. The people next to me hate me for it. But it takes so much recoil off of the gun im not taking it off. Lol
Don't get too overzealous with the lapping or you will have a long, cylindrical paperweight.Wheeler makes a kit. They are specific, of course... AR-10 or AR-15.
Note of caution: The AP M5 receiver is different than the M5 Advanced receiver... which has a different type of barrel nut. They take a proprietary lapping bar.

Excellent!if you ruin an upper because you lapped it down too much to get it square, it was already a paperweight.
