There are 10 zillion striker-fired pistols out there, I have 1, a full-size M&P .40 with Apex trigger. It's my bedside gun.
All my others are S&Ws, Berettas, Sig, etc. and all hammer-fired in a variety of calibers.
I had a P320 a few years ago and sold it for something else. I'm thinking of getting another striker-fired pistol but have zero idea of the best combination of features and price.

Glock is out. I had two (17 & 19) and couldn't shoot them well.

Here's the start of my list to choose from: P320, Walther PPQ, Glock 19, CZP10c, HK VP9, Springfield X Mod2, Stoeger STR9c, Canik TP9sFX....other?

I'd do a Sig 320 but prices seem high...$800 plus. So I'm considering something else.

What do folks think is the best price/features out there. PPQ probably ain't it, those prices mirror Sigs. So what about the others. It could be for carry if compact, otherwise a range gun.

I really don't need another pistol....but, hey, why not?

Canik is an incredible value and the couple I shot were absolute tack drivers.

If it's not a serious defensive gun, I'd highly consider them. I only caveat the defensive part because a few folks I know have had some breakdown issues after a few thousand rounds, IIRC Canik made it right but it was enough to make me wary of one for a CCW/HD gun, YMMV.

But for a range gun? I'd be all over that.

I have a Canik TP9SF. And a TP9SFX. I still remember the 1st time i shot the TP9SF like it was yesterday. It made a big impression on me. After the SFX came out i had to have one. Your other choices i can not comment on.

Is Canik still a good value? I don't think they are available as cheap as they used to be.

Compared to $700-800 Glocks and Sigs and whatnot I think so, everything has gone up in price. Sure, they're probably not sub $300 or whatever anymore but what is?

I have Glocks, XDm's, and PPQ's. I'd trust all with my life. All shoot well. I am mostly a Glock guy, truth be told.

But the PPQ and XDm both shoot excellent. The PPQ has a very nice trigger but longish reset. The XDm has a nice trigger from the factory, but with a Powder River Precision upgrade, it's excellent and better then the stock PPQ or any other stock striker trigger I've shot. All my Glock's have factory triggers with 3.5 connectors.

However, I am currently on the hunt for a Walther PDP. I'm torn between the full size and the compact (full size is Glock 17 size, compact is G19 size). I've decided to let fate decide which one falls in my lap.

I've shot VP9's...they are very similar to the PPQ at a $100 premium.

I've shot the Sig P320 M17. It's alright, but honestly nothing I prefer to a Glock.

No opinion on the CZ's. I'd pass on the Stoeger based on my experience with their shotguns, but that may be unfair.

Another you might consider is the FN 509.

Just FYI: for carry I rotate between a S&W CS9, CS45, and Smith 4513 and 4013, plus a S&W 642PC in .38 special or Beretta PX4c in .40. Hmmmm, kinda a pattern with the Smiths, but they've all been well worked on and would feed beer cans if I could get 'em in the mag.

I have 2 Glock 17’s , Glock 19 and a CZ P10C . The CZ’s trigger and ergonomics are better than the Glocks and for me shoots better . Just got a Steyr L9-A2 MF haven’t shot it yet , but , lower bore axis , better ergonomics and better trigger than any of them . Threaded barrel and Trijicon SRO ordered and on the way . A 320 can still be had for a decent price, just have to look everywhere. I got my 320 Legion in February for $899, my M18 last week was $599. I love the modularity of the 320s, sometimes for fun I put the Legion trigger group in the M18 module and short slide..best of both worlds.

The Walther PDP would be my second choice. Fabulous trigger and grip feel. Canik would be my third choice. They make reliable pistols with great triggers. Truth be told, I think it's hard to find a bad gun these days.

Glock, Smith M&P, and the Sig would be my recommendations. Since you don't like Glock then the Smith would be my recommendation.

I'm perfectly content with Glock, but the advantage of Sig and Smith is the option of a 1911 style safety. I have a couple of 1st gen M&P compact's with the safety and Apex triggers. Those triggers are IMO too light and short to not have a safety. The factory trigger, or Glock trigger is heavy, and long enough for me to be comfortable with.

All of my Sig's also have safeties. My 320 is actually the military M17 with a safety and my wife and I both carry identical Sig 365's with the safety.

I really like my Sig 320 AXG Scorpion, but that's almost a different animal than other P320s. The. Canik SFXS9 has an even better trigger feel than my Sig which is sad especially since the Sig has a better trigger over the plain P320s and the AXG was $600 more than my Canik. I did get my Canik earlier in the year for $500. I just wish it was easier to find mags for it.

I think a little bit of it does come down to what you plan to do with the firearm. Id think id rather take a HK VP9 over a regular P320

The Canik TP9SFX can be had for under $500.00. https://www.georgiagunstore.com/catalog/product/view/id/3503/s/canik-tp9sfx-9mm-5-2-20rd-tungsten/

Great gun, best striker fired trigger out of the box of any I have tried. Good aftermarket products like triggers and springs for making the trigger even better. I have the Freedomsmith trigger in mine and added a couple springs. Trigger pull is under 3 lbs and very short reset.

Slide is milled for a red dot and comes with bases for most popular red dots.

Good luck with your search.

Others?
Beretta APX;
Arex Rex Delta Gen2;
Grand Power Q100;
Taurus G3;
Girsan MC28 optic ready;
Tara Aerospace TM9;
Arsenal Stryk B;
Ruger American Pistol.

I forgot one, what about the Beretta APX?

I had a Centurion APX. Nice enough gun, comfortable grip, good trigger (especially with the cheap competition striker spring) but for whatever reason I just couldn't shoot it well.

Nice gun, just not the right fit for me.
