Hey everyone!

I have a question specifically for @CraigC

I have seen several of your fine Revolvers and I like them all. Now IF I gave you a blank check for your next one what would it be?

Thanks for your time and I hope you have fun with this lots of details please :D:p:D

That's a really good question and not real easy to answer. I had to think about it. All I can think about, at this point in time, is how much I want something engraved but with an antique finish. I'd like to call Cimarron and order either a Schofield .44Spl or an 1860 Richards Type II .44Colt 5.5" with 75% coverage American scroll, their "original finish" and aged ivory. Something in the spirit of these originals, without the hefty price tag.

I saw one just like that second to last one yesterday. Bit more beat up, cracked grip for $1200. Missing the wedge screw.

I’m glad I started this one and nice choices!

With the blank check stipulation, I thought about some high dollar original collectible but I'd really rather have something that looks like one but something I can use. It's a fun one, maybe some more folks will add their "blank check sixgun" to the mix.

I second that motion So now it’s open to anybody you have a blank check only condition is it’s a revolver!

I’ll have to think on this one I’d probably go to Bowen maybe have a custom hunting rig done up or .....the elusive Johviono sic model 57 snubby I’ve only seen pictures of online talk about a great belly gun......or maybe a original bankers special from colt that had the fitz treatment!:D:D:D So many great ones so little time to get them also lack of blank checks:(

Oh baby !!!!!!

I would have Bowen slick up and tune a S&W victory in .45acp. Shorten the bbl to 3"
Customize the hsmmer spur for single action use
Lanyard loop
Mastodon ivory
Make sure it runs moon clips perfectly
Custom holster by @CraigC

I love the historical guns of the old West, and a 1st generation SAA in good shootable condition is on my bucket list.
However, if I were given a blank check today to be earmarked for a revolver, I'd build a custom.

Chambered in .44 magnum.
A Ruger on a Bisley frame.
Oversized 6 shot cylinder.
Octagon or banded barrel.
Built by one of the masters like Bowen or Huntington.
Grips by Rowen.

I'll do it one day.

The S&W Victory Models are K frame. They won’t hold the 45 ACP. Were you thinking of the 45 Hand Ejector U.S. Model 1917?

Kevin

My blank check would be spent on a pre-production New Century Triplelock like the ones they sent to the U S Army tests of the 1909. They were chambered in 45 S&W Special and the family was planning on it being adopted and becoming the flagship of the line. Unfortunately, the contract went to the Browning pistol and S&W went with the 44 S&W Special.

I would happily accept a recreation of that revolver if an original can not be located for sale.

Mmm. Something along the lines of a Smith made Charter Arms Bulldog Classic, in .44 Spl.

Or a Hamilton custom recreation of Keith's #5 in .44 Magnum, built on a Ruger Vaquero.
