How many guns have you given as gifts?

Just gave away a whole safe worth to my Daughter and SIL. No particular reason except they're good kids and I think things are going to go very badly for the US (and the world) over the next 3-5 years.

I sleep better knowing they are armed to the teeth.

Interesting question for these times. Here is my interesting answer .

I gave my baby sister her only gun. She's my baby sister, y'know? She went off to travel the states ,so I gave her the only gun of mine she liked: A Zastava Model 70. Not the rifle, the little .32 ACP pistol. She adores it.

I have given away several. I am a big believer in you reap what you sow, and I want to reap guns.

I gave an Ithaca 66 .410 to a friend for his boys first gun, a Henry .22 youth lever to my son for his first gun, a Ruger LC9 to o a buddy for his 50th and a Uberti Cattleman .45 Colt to a friend moving to Northern Idaho as a going away present.

Gave my nephews their first 22’s, my dad a 450BM AR, my best friend a Benelli SuperNova, recently another friend a TC Venture .223, will be giving my girlfriend a Gen5 Glock 19 as soon as it comes in. I feel like there’s more but don’t remember. But if you’re my best friend or family, and you want/need something I have, it’s yours.

I have given every gun away I have ever owned/own , some for my boys to enjoy with me now and some to enjoy when I am gone .

Interestingly though I own a bunch I hardly ever give or sell a firearm. If family needs something they get it but otherwise not. Like anything in this world if you work for and pay for something of value you value it more than free stuff most times.

Three in my lifetime. All three given to children of relatives or a friend who were sworn into LE agencies in the Federal gov't.

Six years in a row I gave both my sons guns for Christmas. Starting with Makarovs and ending with Ar15s. That's when I felt they were financially sound enough to start buying their own. Now I give them accessories, scopes, ammo, etc.

I have given away more single shot 410's and 20 ga. Than I can count . Back when you could buy them for $30-$40 I bought every one I found . I got pretty good at cutting them down for smaller showers . I still have 3-4 H&R butt plates $30-$40 to get a young person into shooting was money well spent

One to my brother and one to one of my kids.

My guns aren't "given" so much as "adopted out of my custody" by my wife and kids.

Like the time I came home with a .22 bolt action I found in a great deal and told my wife about it because we were planning on taking the kids out and teaching them to shoot "real" guns.

She asked me where it was at..."in my trunk". "Can I see it?" "Sure".

Went out to the car and popped the trunk. She took one look at it and said "COOL! IS THAT MINE?!?"

Wise husband that I am: "Why yes! Yes, it is!"

A bunch. To my sons. At least one per a year. Good useable or collectible stuff. If rather see them having fun now with them than hope they do after I'm gone.

Four ... one in the late '70s to a buddy (151- 2¾ s/s Ruger Security Six w/shoulder rig) and 3 in the past few years: for my niece a Glock 42 (Xmas) and an AR15 (wedding present) ... while I was at it, I also got a Glock 42 for my sister.

Each grandkid that grows up with an interest in them gets one when they're of age. The will is also set to hand them out after I'm gone.

Problem is nobody wants them. My daughter doesn't and won't let me give my grandson one.

My son, I bought a shotgun for him when he was younger, but he has almost no interest in having another gun. He says he wants my M-1 Carbine, but made no effort to facilitate the transfer to him in HI. Now HI is so backed up, so they say, that it was months to get an appt. to register one, which is required. Now it looks like they won't even schedule any more appt. in Honolulu at this point.

No, I won't give them to you. lol

4. A Taurus. 38, a winchester .22lr and a glock43 and a glock 44

All of them, some directly, An 1100, a 1022, two muzzleloaders an M1911, but contents of the safe belong to three sons, sooner or later. Haven’t sold a gun since 1997, so for all intent all have been given away. (Just not delivered yet )

Zero...will leave all mine to my son when I die.
