How many guns have you given as gifts?

Let's see...two to my oldest grandson a Ithica Model 37 w/pistol grip and a Glock 43, three to my youngest grandson my Glenfield .22 that I bought when I was 13, a Henry Goldenboy in .17 HMR and a Ruger SR 1911 Commander, two to my brother a Taurus PT38S .38 Super and a Bersa Thunder CC, a Bersa Thunder .380 to my wife and her sister (that's what they wanted) and to my nephew a Bersa .380 and a Stoeger SXS 12 ga Coach Gun.

I can't remember how many firearms I have given my LEO son over the years. Probably close to a dozen if not more. The last three were a Ruger Super Blackhawk .454 Casull, a CZ 75 SP01 Shadow and a Palmetto State Armory AR pistol in .300 Black Out his current patrol carbine.

Your brother is a police officer and doesn't own a handgun? Is that a thing?
He owns several rifles and ARs, but nothing that could be concealed so I figured it was about time.

He is a single full time dad of two teens and every dollar he makes he puts into adventures with his kids.

I tend to hang onto my guns. I have a hard time making the collection smaller. Over the years, I have only given away 4 guns. Only one was from my "stash". The others I bought new intending to give as a gift. None were for birthdays, etc. when one might expect a gift. Just a surprise, here's a gun for ya.
Couldn't even hazard a reasonable guess but to say somewhere barely shy of 2 dozen. I'm going to include several raffle donations to that.

More than once, I have let a friend or family member shoot a gun and watching them just knew; Yup, that's gonna be his gun now.... or her's as the case may have been.

Certainly more than I have given knives but not so many as I have given of quality gun books.

Giving these things that meant something to me, to someone to whom they will also mean something, is a wonderfully simple joy.

Todd.

Just one... To my Dad for his birthday. It was a Ruger P89 I bought on sale for $299 back in 2009. He's only shot it once. He keeps it for home protection. He keeps crabbing at me to trade it in for a 6 shooter.

1st one was a Colt Govt. 9mm to my girlfriend. Over the years to my Son, I gave an SKS, new Beretta 390 20 ga., Ruger stainless 10-22, Sig P226, Colt 380 Govt., .25 auto. Another .25 auto to my Daughter.

I have gifted 5 firearms to my grandchildren mostly 10/22's, 20ga & 1 pistol. I have 13 grandchildren and I feel it's my responsibility to teach them proper respect, safety, usage and accuracy of the tools gifted to them. They enjoy PaPa's back yard range, especially exploding targets.

Just gave away a whole safe worth to my Daughter and SIL. No particular reason except they're good kids and I think things are going to go very badly for the US (and the world) over the next 3-5 years.

I sleep better knowing they are armed to the teeth.

Same here. I gave away 40 of my prised firearms because I was told I was dying of non-hotchkins lymphoma, the fast growing kind but, long story short, I asked God to heal me and He did, Praise God.
So now I'm starting a new collection, the first of which is a stainless Ruger GP-100 Match Champion in 10mm.

Thats great news, Hallelujah!

I gave my ex wife a revolver because the judge made me. Does that count?

Mine got a Ruger red label in 28 gauge. What a sweet gun that was. Then she sold it for a song just to spite me. Dang, am I a happy dude these days! :)

Same here, last year I was a goner for sure, still not back from the edge but still alive. gave away several during this time plus lots of ammo
for those who will need it with the prices the way they are, haven't started buying again but who knows.

I gave a friend an Ithaca 37 for a wedding present; her ex, who had been a good friend of mine in high school, had taken their one gun, a Ted Williams (Winchester) 12 ga I had helped him pick out when we were in high school, with him when they split. She had been an MP and liked having a shotgun in the house. I actually had been given the Ithaca, as well as a bag of old paper shells by a grandfather whose grandkids poked around in his closet and found it. He didn't hunt anymore, so he just wanted it out of the house. I got a box with several Cutts chokes and a wrench also. I left the IC choke in it and sold the box at a gun show.
My sons have received several guns from me also.
