Love your gun OP. I am a big fan of the 32 caliber round but all mine are 32 long, 32 mag and 32acp. If I found any sort of deal on a 32-20 I would be all over it. Especially a K-Frame sized gun. So easy to shoot and load for. If you look on the Handloader archive many years ago Gil Sengal wrote an excellent article on 32-20 revolvers. I have wanted one ever since then. I still have the article stored in my attic. Its too good to throw away.

I have a Whitney Rolling Block rifle of about 1885 vintage that has had its barrel relined in .32-20. (Original barrel was badly corroded)
I tried all sorts of different powder & bullet combinations to get good accuracy, generally with poor results. (Trail boss, Black powder, Unique, etc)
Finally, I wound up with 12.5 gr of Accurate 1680 & a Missouri Bullet Co. 0.314" 120 gr coated lead bullet & got good accuracy & a very mild load. (14.5 max)
It also did well with a Hornady 100 gr JHP and again 12.5 1680. Velocitys of both were subsonic IE, less than 1200 fps. Whitney 2nd model 2 copy.jpg

Maybe Bob Wright is thinking of the Official Police. Didn't the Army Special kind of morph into the Official Police. There were several models that all sounded about the same. The OP was made in 32-20.

I was not thinking, I was dreaming. I knew that the OMM was .22 & .38, and the Official Police has fixed sights. What I was wanting was a medium sized frame revolver with a 6" ~ 7 1/2" barrel and good adjustable sights. I had some correspondence with Colt at the time, but they said they knew revolvers better than I did.
