Hey everyone- anyone found or bought any new knives lately? I was thinking of getting a new SOG line knife but wanted feedback from others first. Let me know!

Definitely let us know what knives you're looking at. If you look at the last couple of threads that I started, I posted pics of the knives.

Makes it easier for everyone else to check it out and get a better idea of what I want.

So, post some pics or a link and we'll take a look at them.

I have been carrying a Flash2 as a work knife for 8 years now. Bought a Twitch early last year for dress. Got the SEAL Stryke late last year for trail use. Couldn't be more impressed for the prices.

Some other forums had SOG flip knives as suggestions so probably that style. Something I can toss in a bag or carry front pocket

Again, which specific model(s)? Sog makes some pretty good flippers, and some rather bad flippers. What's your budget? Kershaw has some nice USA made manual flippers that are on ball bearings and use a strong detent, rather than an assisted opening torsion spring that can break. There are also quite a few knives with opening holes that you either open with a finger flick, or slowly open with your thumb. Do you have any blade length restrictions where you live? Do you want a deep carry pocket clip?

Seal pup elite i love. Sog multitools i love.
Had a trident flipper, but the pocket clip makes the knife sit too deep and its slow on the draw. Catches on the pocket edge

the terminus is highly thought of.
I like the lines of the flash AT, I just wish it was not assisted and didn't have a safety.

overall, it's a company that is improving, but not really my style/speed. I do like them better than cold steel.

So do you have any links or websites you buy off of?

Lately I've been buying here https://www.reddit.com/r/Knife_Swap/new

Beyond that, blade HQ, knifecenter, white mountain knives, knivesshipfree, aliexpress etc. Pretty much all Benchmade, spyderco, ZT, microtech, heck All American made higher-end knives are being cloned in China, so I don't buy off eBay or Amazon anymore. I only buy those new from reputable dealers.

But I pretty much given up on the American companies. The value just isn't there when compared to reate, we, civivi, kizer, kancept, etc.
And I've been astounded by how good a knife you can get for $20-50 from cjrb, ganzo, civivi, ch, petrified fish, and various Chinese micro brands.

Although I did buy a hogue deka recently. I love the warncliffe blade, the handle......meh. feels like an elishewitz design. Like a Benchmade stryker scaled down to bugout size and more agressively checkered. I don't know if I'll keep it. My wife likes it more than I do.

I have owned or do own the SOG mini instinct and the Trident. I wish I still had the Trident, no idea where that guy scampered off to. Both were great knives for their intended purpose. I am looking at another but it is tip-down carry and I am not fond of that design. So the model really matters.

I have a SOG combo SHTF kit. It seems pretty cheaply made, and I doubt it will hold up to a long term, real-world survival situation. It'll have to do for now. I'd have to look closely at some improved SOG offerings before I decide to go down that path for a pocket flipper. I prefer Kershaw and Spyderco, and I like my one pricey ZT, so I'm more likely to stick with those.

I’m going to check those sites out but maybe I’ll go with SOG and another if I find one I also like
