Ruger Guns Please Help

Ruger: must be one of the most wide-spread and well known brands. I think most people have fired either the 10/22 or one of the MK* pistols.

If it was me I would take the pistol, I have fired various Ruger pistols in South Africa and the US and enjoy them. Can't have those in the UK but we have many 10/22s and their variants. I have a Rimfire Magic which is great with a suppressor.

Correct, I've purchased stock in Ruger but I don't own a Ruger gun, I'm leaning toward a wheel gun as I currently do not own a revolver

You know how opinions are, so, this is worth what you paid for it.

In my opinion, for a carry gun, the lcrx is ok, but is a little snappy with full power .38 loads, fine for SD, but, after a few cylinders at the range it can wear on you. The sp101 is steel and is more shootable, the only thing I didn't like is the DA only trigger on the spurless model 357 I had - if I were to buy another it would have a hammer.

For a bigger gun, the gp100 as I said is my favorite, if I could only have one revolver that is the one I would keep. There are others as well, blackhawk in single action, redhawk DA/SA, and many folks love the Vaquero for a "cowboy" gun.

YMMV

Dave

I like Rugers, nothing bad to say about them, I have a 77MK2 in .308 Win, MK1 target .22, Single Six convertible .22, Black Hawk ..357, Super Blackhawk .44 mag, SP101 2 1/8 inch .357, LC9S Pro 9mm. I love all my kids... hdbiker

A note on Ruger customer service, at the last field striping & cleaning I put the firing pin return spring support back in upside down, (OOPS) in my MK1 target, during this cleaning I noticed it was damaged. I called Ruger about it and they sent me a new one FREE OF CHARGE !!!...hdbiker

I've owned quite a few Rugers in my life. .22,38spl,.357mag,.44mag revolvers all sold/traded. Currently an all metal SS 10-22, SS 77 in .308, ss 43/4 standard and Competition Target. I used to think "I can let this one go, Rugers are easily replaceable" except now they're not. Joe

i have to agree with a couple other posts about the Wrangler it looks like a good entry level .22 S.A. pistol I am seriously conemplating getting one , but i already have a couple Heritage Rough Riders so its hard to justify another right now , but , if I get in some over time , ...
Hey....I'll betcha it runs those Rough Riders off your range! Again...GET THE BLACK ONE; for unknown reasons of variables-unknown that seem to MAKE NO SENSE the black examples are more-often-than-not reported to be good shooters right out of the box when the other colors need their sights messed with.

If my life depended on a .22 rifle, there is no substitute for a 10/22 I can think of at any price point. Feed good old CCI Mini-mags (or Velocitors, if you can find them) from a specific-weapon-tested, proven magazine and you will not go wrong.

I have bought stock in Sturm Ruger and I want to increase the value of my stock lol

i did that a few yrs ago and ended up selling with a 33% loss. it was just too volatile. the dividend used to be 40% of any earnings gets distributed to shareholders( fixed payout ratio) so the dividends go up and down too depending on the gun business and gun climate is at the time.

to keep this gun related, i did end up buying more guns during that time of selling. as i told the salesman, might as well buy actual guns with me losing the money.( i don't consider buying guns an investment, mind you, i just have never bought a gun as expensive as what i have lost in the stock) i harvested the tax loss and redeployed the money elsewhere where it grew better.

it made me decide to stay away from stocks that were too politically sensitive and discretionary. i say buy the guns not the company but that is just me.
