I have to admit I have been trying some bullets out of my comfort zone lately since what I can find during the pamdemic. I haven't really loaded much plated since I started reloading. The last batch of extreme plated 230gr RN bullets worked out pretty good. Still have plenty left but tonight I ordered 500 berry's HP hybrid just to try.

They are 230gr HP plated hybrid bullets(whatever that means). These will be used for plinking at 7-25 yards and will be loaded with Titegroup. I'm just curious if anyone has used these and how they performed? I'm just trying to keep a somewhat regular shooting routine without digging into my good stuff while good supplies are harder to find. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah I saw them on midway too.
Seems like it wouldn't be a bad bullet. I thought about buying some. But I'm going to hold out for premium 230gr bullets.
45aarp bullet selection is much better than even a month ago.

I bought 1,000 in 9mm recently. Haven’t loaded em yet but the Berry’s flat points and RN worked fine for me so I have no doubt these will too.

I've loaded them with
5.5 gr Unique at 1.235" OAL
6.2 gr CFE Pistol @ 1.230"
4.4gr Titegroup @ 1.233"
Win LP primer
Win brass

Gun- Colt Gold Cup Trophy.
Have had good results. Groups were very satisfactory.

I haven't tried them in .45 but I have shot them out of .380, 9mm, and .40 S&W. I think they are good bullets. Given the rather narrow peak performance window - right off the top of my head, something like between 950-1100 fps, the bullets are too slow for 10mm Auto and .357 SIG but seemed to be great in other cartridges. I think they would be a great choice for .45 ACP.

Don't recall the load but I'm sure it was around 850 fps. Shot a mature Iowa whitetail buck at 35yds with a berry's 230 hybrid from a 1911.
It was broad side, slightly quartering, The bullet was a perfect mushroom and stopped under the hide after penetrating both lungs. The buck ran about 100 yards.
If I could find the bullet I would post a photo.

That's all good info. I originally ordered 500 of these bullets but I got an email stating there was only one box left with no back order. I figure by the time I spend working these up and getting them dialed in I really won't have any left. I guess that's the way it goes.

I haven't done any load searching yet but I find that interesting. That's right about where I figured it should be. With all the few different plated 230gr bullets I have loaded in 45 acp I seem to end up at 4.4-4.6 gr of Titegroup.
