20 Years?

I feel I'm a relative newcomer here, joined in 2010. Stumbled in here looking for some information on a Lyman All American turret. I took a look around, liked the place and stayed.
As to age, computers, etc... I played around with Commodore 64 and Vic 20. Was amazed by a friend's Apple IIc, and another friend's Tandy 1000. I bought a PC clone of the 8088 processor variety as my first PC back in 1986/7 . Since then, have bought or built everything from 286, 386, 486, Pentium, Pentium IIs, and so forth. Still mess with them, have been playing with the Single Board Computers, Raspberry Pi's, Odroids, and I am amazed at their power. Never had an AOL account, though I did have Compuserve.
As to firearms -- It's quite the eclectic mix of milsurp, plastic fantastic, 1911s, and whatever strikes my fancy.

I didn't trust internet forums. For a long time I figured a good manual was all you needed.
Then I realized it was like modding engines. There can be a lot more to it than a Chilton's manual.
I was looking for info on long range shooting and didn't like the way people respond to each other on other forums. So I joined here a measly 5 years ago. It's been a good five though.

Twenty year members should be bestowed a "magic button" that instantly and painfully neuters anyone who types the word SHOTTY.

Goodness gracious ! A violent corporal punishment for violating what is basically only a personal preference?

Goodness gracious ! You get 51% of the people to get together on that issue,, and by golly, you could pass a law about it.

Well, that's the way a pure democracy works, so have at it.

I'm not signing this one so nobody will know who posted it.

It would be kind of cool to get a bulk order together snd have starline make us commemorate headstamped brass. Imagine the fun we could have voting on the cartridge - has to be something popular in 2002 and 2021 so the Creedmore crowd is out of luck :neener:

Actually, I'm considering getting a pair of assegai for my short range behind the house.

Just in case another mammoth shows up - or another lion escapes from the King Ranch.
I've sold all of my pilae, my iklwa isn't really meant for throwing and my fishing spears won't do enough damage to a major predator or game animal.
We've already had emus starting fights with the neighborhood dogs.
