HUGE CAN of WORMS!!!I want to ship some primers to my sister and brother in law. What do I have to do special to do this. anyone know?
Not unless he's certifiedUps with hasmat.
Brass, bullets can be shipped legally via USPSSure would be nice if someone made a sticky on what components can be shipped legally, and what's required to do so.
I've yet to interact with anyone on here I'd want to see convicted of illegally shipping hazardous materials, yet so many people don't know you can't stuff primers in a flat rate box and send them on their way. Or that you can't apply for a Hazmat license the same way you do your CHL.
It's really not that hard - ammo and primed brass has to ship through a common carrier (FedEx or UPS). Hazmat (powder and primers in this case) requires a Hazmat certification by the shipper (the person shipping the item) and it must also ship via common carrier. Either package must have the proper labels on it. All of this can be found through the DOT.Sure would be nice if someone made a sticky on what components can be shipped legally, and what's required to do so.

I wasn't saying you weren't aware, merely that it is stupidly simple for anyone who wants the knowledge to freely acquire it without posting here. In fact a search engine will get results far faster than a forum post in this case and you will get the information direct from the government source that dictates the rules. Thanks @George P and @Havok7416 ...
I do understand the process, but was mostly thinking of the folks who don't since it seems the question is raised nearly every week or so for the last handful of months.

Why read a sticky when you can ask the same question others have asked one hundred times before?Sure would be nice if someone made a sticky on what components can be shipped legally, and what's required to do so.

Spokane Lowes! CHECK!Met a Guy the other Day in the LGS. He has been looking for LRP for almost a Year. Told Him I’d be back that way in a couple days and I had plenty to spare. We met in the Lowe’s parking lot. I slipped Him a couple sleeves then went in and did My shopping. Felt like I was doing a drug deal or something.
Of course I wouldn’t let Him pay Me. I was glad to help a fellow loader out. In the end. I have a new Friend.
