HUGE CAN of WORMS!!!

You can’t. you can send primed brass but not raw, pretty, shiny, PRIMERS

This has been covered before (and recently). You cannot ship primers without being Hazmat certified. UPS, FedEx, etc cannot ship them on your behalf. The certification requirement comes from the DOT and lies with the party doing the shipping (ie, YOU). Your dealer is unlikely be Hazmat certified since they only receive Hazmat.

Sure would be nice if someone made a sticky on what components can be shipped legally, and what's required to do so.

I've yet to interact with anyone on here I'd want to see convicted of illegally shipping hazardous materials, yet so many people don't know you can't stuff primers in a flat rate box and send them on their way. Or that you can't apply for a Hazmat license the same way you do your CHL.

Brass, bullets can be shipped legally via USPS

It's really not that hard - ammo and primed brass has to ship through a common carrier (FedEx or UPS). Hazmat (powder and primers in this case) requires a Hazmat certification by the shipper (the person shipping the item) and it must also ship via common carrier. Either package must have the proper labels on it. All of this can be found through the DOT.

Brass and projectiles can ship through anyone to include USPS.

Thanks @George P and @Havok7416 ...
I do understand the process, but was mostly thinking of the folks who don't since it seems the question is raised nearly every week or so for the last handful of months.
I wasn't saying you weren't aware, merely that it is stupidly simple for anyone who wants the knowledge to freely acquire it without posting here. In fact a search engine will get results far faster than a forum post in this case and you will get the information direct from the government source that dictates the rules.

Send them a gift card for the price of a box of primers, maybe + hazmat charge, so they can buy from a dealer.

Why read a sticky when you can ask the same question others have asked one hundred times before?:)

I want EVERYONE who is illegally shipping hazardous materials to be caught, prosecuted, convicted, and punished. If they did it out of ignorance or stupidity, too bad, there is no excuse. Every time someone is looking to increase restrictions on this or any other firearms related activity they cite incidence of violations. So, each violation is ammo (pun intended) that can be used against me.

Met a Guy the other Day in the LGS. He has been looking for LRP for almost a Year. Told Him I’d be back that way in a couple days and I had plenty to spare. We met in the Lowe’s parking lot. I slipped Him a couple sleeves then went in and did My shopping. Felt like I was doing a drug deal or something. :)
Of course I wouldn’t let Him pay Me. I was glad to help a fellow loader out. In the end. I have a new Friend.
