I found some cfe blk at my lgs today, my older books don't list it for 7.62x39. I have some speer 130 spfn and 150 rn I'd like to try in my cz 527. Any pet loads or data would be helpful.
Thanks, wish I could find some gold dots like to try them on deer.I had just started using it when my 7.62x39mm rifle went away. The load I did have that was listed as "nice" was this one, 123gr Speer Gold Dot, Mixed brass, 28gr CFE BLK, COAL of 2.15.
Thanks, 28-29 seems common with 123s I'll see if I can find any published data to. But 25 maybe a good start with a 130 308.I've been running 123 gr Nosler VG in mixed brass at 29 grains with an OAL of 2.19. New brass I use 28.5 grains of CFE-BLK, YMMV. This is for multiple AR 15's , and 1- Ruger American ranch chambered in x39.
ok thanks, the flat point 130 and round nose 150 I have look like they will be good deer Medicine.Hodgdon lists loads for 108, 125, and 150s using CFE black.
I had some but traded my SKS before getting to play with it any. I can check with Ed and see if he did anything with it tho.
I have about 50 hornady sp I can try to, there .312 Eventually I'll get a mold for it.I have a CZ527 as well. I particularly enjoy using 150 grain bullets (from .303 British diameter bullets). I think that rifle should do a bit better than the SKS - AK type actions. But of course be careful at the 'top'. My best results were with a powder no longer made (of course) so I will be exploring some other powders. I'll share.
The funny thing is I don't need to load for accuracy lol, this gun shoots tula into a 3/4" 5 shot group at 100 and that's with the sights. One day I'll get a case of steel case hp or sp but like to try some bullets I have. When I had an sks I used imr4227 under 130 spire point bullets. Never loaded heavier bullets than that but my load would shoot 2 in groups at 100 open sights.
what cast you using, I'd like to pickup a mold someday but I'd like to stay under 130 or so.I forgot to mention that loads was in a CZ 527M. I have another one for cast bullets...
Thanks for the infoThe best mold I ever found - an NOE 129gr .314 mold I sized down to .311 after powder coating/gas check. I also use it with some success in .308. The bullets cast out with a tip so sharp it can poke ya.
The cast load with CFE BLK was 23 grains and 2.185, but I never got to extensively test it.
