I was wondering if it will feed through my lyman no 55 powder measure before I make a mee on my reloading bench thanks Bruce

My go to powder for 223. 25 grains, 55 Sierra sp in Lake City case have me my best ever 100 yard AR groups. Thrown from a #55.

Varget is a decent stick powder to throw. Better than IMR4895 but not quite as good as Rl15. I get +/- 1% from my uniflow and expect a Lyman 55 would be similar.

It's probably the Gold Standard for .308 Winchester using mid to heavy bullets, much like H4350 is for the 6.5mm Creedmoor.

Surprisingly, it also does very well in .223 Remington.

Varget works quite well in many different applications and meters through my Hornady equipment as well as any other. Be aware though, since Varget has been changed with the addition of copper cleaner about 1 1/2 years ago it has lost some of it's speed. Still a very good powder for .308, 30.06, M-1 Garand, .270 Win. etc.

Varget is absolutely my favorite powder. I load .223 and .308 with Varget and get great performance and accuracy. The downside of Varget is it is very difficult to find and that started before this latest shortage. It is not the best metering powder but you should be fine.

That's one of my favorite recipes as well.

And I love the performance of those 55 Sierra SPs. That reminds me, I have probably 400 of those I need to roll-up and some Varget that needs to be used.

I've gone thru a couple big jugs of it over the years.
Once you get it dialed in, it throws fairly well. Not as good as 335 or something of the like, but decent enough.
A mess on the bench is an operator related issue

Smells funny on the firing line.

Works great though.

Us it in .22-250 AI & 6 mm REM AI.

Been reloading for about 1.5-2 years. While I don’t look everyday, I’ve never seen it available online or at a local store. I’m guessing it’s very good

Been using Varget in both my AR-15's annd my AR-10 for the past year and a half , and so far am very pleased with it. It also meters well in my Dillon powder measures.
