I agree that Merkles have a BIG problem across the line, not just individual guns. I do not agree that it's a shooter problem on most rifles. Blaming the shooter, absent clear evidence that they actually moved their finger to and pressed the rear trigger, is counterproductive. Blaming "weak grip" on a 2-trigger gun (which hopefully is what we're talking about) is ridiculous as the shooter's finger is on the front trigger and pressing it again on rebound does nothing.

I bought a Merkel in 470 about 2 years ago. I have put about 350-400 rounds through it. No problems.

I shot a buddys Heym in 470 and it kicked a little less due to a better stock design. But neither is abusive to shoot.

I was talking to Dirk yesterday he said that Merkle has squared away their mechanical issues with doubling. I’m sure you guys talked about that before you bought yours.

I do like the new Heym 89 very much though!

Are you bringing your .470 to the annual double gun blastathon this year? I’ll be sure and bring mine as usual and the 9.3 as well.
