The majority of my primer tubes are older than I am and are in need of tips due to difficult pickups. My 12 new small primmer tubes have yellow pickup tips with a blue discharge cap with a carter key in it.

Will dillon warranty these tips?

If not where can one buy these?

Also do I need to add the blue discharge tip to the vintage tubes? I can't really see an advantage of this but what do I know?

That top link looks like a great resource. I was having similar thoughts about tips yesterday as I was giving my Dillon a workout. My 650 was kind of a rescue and had several missing parts. The support from Dillon is outstanding! I was surprised how much was under warranty. Give them a call.

My old pick up tubes have a hole drilled in the aluminum for the spring cotter pin. The newer ones saved the step with the plastic cap that has a hole in it.

They send extra ones with the press originally as well as feed tube tips. They have never charged me for extra feed tube tips so they might not charge for the pick up tube ones either.

The pick up tube tips will be the same for all the Dillons but if you are needing the tube for the 650 press, it’s different than all the other Dillon presses. The 650 uses the brass one on the left, all the rest use the keyed plastic tips like the one on the right.

Is that the pickup tube, or the magazine tube...?

The pick up tubes can be used for any press, you don’t even need Dillon ones but the magazine tubes for the presses are different between the 650 and the others using the keyed plastic tip. The first photo in that post are all pick up tubes, the second are magazine tubes.

Understood.....But the OP is asking about pickup tubes...

Yes, that’s why that photo followed the quote from Mokin (650 specific) and the other photo and information, that proceeded it, was for the OP.

Dillon warranted some yellow tip for me today. I guess I will have to see how many they send.

Update

Called dillon and spoke with Ron and I now have 24 new tips on the way. Ron did point out I should send my old pickup in for new tubes as the changing of the tips will cause me too be two primers shy due to a change in tube length.

I assured him that would be fine as I am wanting to keep original tubes with original equipment.

Evidently I have an older tube with a hole in the end. Does there seem to be any advantage to the plastic tip?

I have a vintage dillon Square Deal B and the pickup tubes that I got with it when purchased used are plastic with brass tips. I much prefer these over the aluminum and plastic tips. I can pickup 100 a lot quicker with the brass tipped ones.
