Inviting all for some friendly challenge. If you think you know your skills you have 5 shots and 3 minutes to prove it.

You can download the target here 22LR Know Your Skills Challenge | Day At The Range

And also submit your targets. Much like the other challenges you will get your own dedicated page if you become a part of the challenge.

I just hope everyone's outing is much better than my first.

Can you outline the rules more clearly for those that can't sit through the video?

I'm envisioning 75 shots at 15 circles in 3 minutes at an unknown distance.

I would go straight for the top row. I might download the target and give it a go. All I have is a fixed 4x on my 10/22 but I am pretty good with it. I can regularly shoot bottle caps off hand at 25

My rest has lots of pieces. ;)
Your rests have also been known to fire the guns for you.....

Huh..... That makes me wonder now.... Would a remote trigger system improve the consistency of a rifle or would being strapped into a rest cause more variation.....

Shot this today with my QB-78 air rifle. I didnt do real well score wise, but only throwing 1 shot is pret good for me.
I was also only at 48yds. Since where i originally set up wasnt stable enough for me to get the gun sighted, i moved forward to go prone and got sighted and shot from there.
Missed two shots, decided to put something on the board, then went for broke lol
Just noticed the target pictures upside down.

Still playing with the adapter to hook my phone to the spotting scope.....

I'm hoping to get out and shoot this for real tomorrow morning, tho the last few times I said I was going to go do something on the weekend My plans got shot.... So we'll see......

WOW with an air rifle I know they are very accurate or can be I just have never seen anyone try the challenge with it. Wulf you want me to put it on the page as an entry?

Way to cool

Interesting. I am recovering from rotator cuff surgery so I will have to wait a few weeks. I have a scoped QB78 .22 Cal. that I got from Flying Dragon in Iowa. But I left it under pressure and lost a seal. Great shooting, I don't think I could do that with mine. I want to try it with a CZ and a 540XR.

Naw, thanks tho. It was mostly just curiosity to see how well I could do with the old girl.

The QBs can be surprisingly accurate. Mine has the heavier thumbhole stock, a full tune, and a lot of tinkering (had her for 11years now).
If you know what seal went, I can send you a replacement I have most of them.

Thanks!

Thanks, i have been reluctant to tear into it. Thought I might drive to Iowa and see him in person but just not getting that done so I might get into it after I heal a little more . 3 more weeks in a sling.

Probably should have stuck with rhe QB....
We were shooting Eley club from both guns and before actually shooting the challenge targets They we're easily holding minute of angle or better. We had some issue when we switched to actually shooting the challenge targets obviously.

I have videos and stuff....but lazy now.

Rifles
Christensen Ranger, Burris 4.5-14x42 fullfield

I have been wanting to try this one since I came across the thread a week ago, finally was able to give it 5 shots this afternoon. All my rests are still down at the farm from Memorial weekend so I grabbed one of my 10-22’s I machined a rear adjustment to use in conjunction with a bipod and due to mud left the concrete bench in the shop and used a lighter folding leg table and bucket, once I put the target up.

I took a gander through the scope and realized it wasn’t going to be the best for the target set (3-9 Pride Fowler) so I put the “good” ammo back up and grabbed the old faithful Winchester dynapoint that was under $8/500 years ago. Even the small plates under 2” were easy after the tiny dots with that scope.

That made me decide to go with the bottom row and I should have fired a fouler shot or at least started with the largest, lowest point target on the right but hind sight is 20/20.

Wound up just shy of 50.

Might see if I can do better this weekend.
