Great looking grips on your Colt SAA! Nice coloration and just the right amount of bark on them!

Beautiful grips! Just a stunning look.

Are they strong enough to use when firing the gun? I have seen some state that fossil grips should not be used when firing; I don’t know, but I am curious.

Nice. Did you sent him the grip frame? How well do they fit?
Fit Very nicely. A bit long at the bottom, but I'll let them rest a while and take a nail file to the offending edge. Just a couple thousandths. He fit them on a Gen 3 he had in for some stag grips. He turned these from a set of Python grips he'd been saving. David is really responsive and customer centric.

David advised to keep them out of a hot car, wipe them down with mineral oil every few months, and shoot the hell out of them. I don't keep collectors items and these are just too sweet not to shoot and pass around to my buddies so they can do the same. If you're in Houston - drop me a line. I'll see you at the range!

Now those are pretty. Normally I say I don't care for stag grips, but those really POP! Thanks for the inspiration.

I'm going to have to do something like that. I've got a beautiful USFA single action, in 45 Colt, with the 4 5/8"? barrel? It was in unfired outside the factory condition when I got it. Beautiful gun, except for the black plastic grips. A nice set of grips, and some leather wouldn't be lipstick on a pig I don't guess.

A crappy picture I snapped while waiting on the background check, but it shows the color case hardening well.

I'm not really a S/A guy, but this one was so pretty, I just couldn't pass it by. I thought it was a Colt actually, until I noticed the US on the grip. I've fired about 30 rounds through it, but haven't been able to find anymore 45 Colt ammo, so I saved the last twenty rounds in the box. It was a lot of fun to shoot one handed. It just begged to be shot one handed. Two hands just felt silly. I'll bet from the hip would have been a hoot, but I figured the indoor range would frown on it. ;)

Great looking gun! To be clear - the grips I just installed are mammoth - not stag. Beyond that, I only shoot this one handed. Dead nuts on too. First round out of the pipe - 15 yards - and I'm blind. These SAA's point naturally and
shoot straight.

Well I am a SAA kind of guy and couldn't pass on something as awesome as that either! Beautiful color case hardening along with a nice deep blued finish; this gun with some stag grips would be a real show-stopper!

Thanks for sharing your fantastic find with us!
