Anyone ever shot an M1 carbine (30carbine) suppressed?

Carbine always seemed a poor host.
Ammo was predicated around being supersonic, the gas port in the rear, with the short tappet also in the rear, with no easy way to lock up the bolt.

A complicated combination at best.
The main problem I see with the carbine as a suppressor host is the twist rate. A carbine with a 1/8" twist shooting 180+ grain bullets would be awesome suppressed.

I consider the gas port being right in front of the chamber as a positive feature. Think about it, it's a lot easier to get a pistol gas AR to function with subsonics than one with a carbine or longer gas system.

The closer to the chamber your port is, the faster burning your powder can be (within allowable pressure) and faster powders are generally quieter than slower ones.

The inability to lock the bolt or cut off gas is a total nonissue to me. Action noise that seems loud to the shooter is almost imperceptible from 30 or 40 yards away. I prefer my semi autos to work as designed rather than as clumsy straight pulls.

9mm Luger ammo was "predicated" around being supersonic, but it's pretty quiet through a can when loaded with heavy subsonic bullets.

Well I did it. I got my rebel SOS hunter back in like 5 months. By far the lamest off all the silencers I have in NFA jail.
The SOS hunter is too fat to use the carbine sights, but I didn't buy it for the carbine.
It quiets the 30 carbine down really well.
I think the 30 carbine needs it's own micro 30 can to allow use of the bayonet, which requires a modified bayonet mount. Which I already made.

The M1 carbine is stuck firing very supersonic 120gr bullets and smaller.
If I really had to have a super quiet semi auto 30 cal I would get a 300bo upper.

I put my 300 whisper silencer on my Universal M1carbine. It sucked. The gas blowback was enough to move my hair and require double eye protection. Along with my WASR, it was the only gun I have that is less enjoyable to shoot suppressed than unsuppressed.

Anyone ever shot one with a can on it?
While I greatly admire @Swampman for his experimentation. . . it sounds like this ground's been covered.

If you want today's answer to a suppressed M1 Carbine. . . suppressed .300BO AR pistol. Far less sexy, I admit, but it'll work.

The rebel SOS 30 cal on the M1 carbine with the full stack gives some shooter blow back. I could shorten it by a section or 2 and I'm sure it would be fairly quiet with no shooter blow back.

I figured I would search before posting and found this.
A very long time ago I got my 30 carbine barrel thread because I thought it would neat to have one shoot heavy subsonic bullets, this was all way before the 300 black out came around. Then I learned about barrel twist and bullet stabilization and realized it wouldn't work and didn't do anything with it for a long time.
I finally tried it out with with my osprey 9mm and a modular aluminum form one 30 cal silencer.
The 9mm doesn't really give satisfactory results compared to something drilled out to handle 30 cal bullets.
