So if he doesn't sign it by the 20th of June it becomes law anyhow? Maybe he won't sign for political cover?

With a few exceptions, the owner of the private property retains control of the the property as being private property. That owner can stop the carry of guns onto the property (2nd Amendment). That owner can stop somebody from setting up a printing press, using the property for church services, or engaging in public speaking, such as a politician who might want to use the property for a backdrop to further a campaign talking point (first amendment). Trespass laws are still in effect. The exceptions tend to be issues related to sex, race, and religion (of the person), and in some cases, gender preference.

Would “No shoes, No Shirt, No Service.” Signs still be OK if I self identified as a cave man? :)

He's indicated he will sign it.
There are a number of really good bills piled up on his desk, and they each require time to deal with.
There's about zero opposition (other than the usual suspects) to the bill, so there's no political gain in not signing it.
We are just impatient.
It's also the nature of the way Texas has only one Session every two years. These things happen in great big batches. There's a rush at the end. And service workers in Austin get tips for a change for the next 16-18 months.

Now, there's some chatter about the "deholster" Bill (which removed the "shoulder/belt holster" requirement from OC) which HB 1927 also does, and whether that one needs some other attention by the Governor.

Looks like there was a big signing of bills the other day. So its signed as of now.
