I’m learning (trying) to shoot longer after a lifetime of pistols and limited rifle. Ammo is Federal matchking 175 Gr. 3 images at 200y. The 3rd is with elevation adjusted from the 100y zero. I guess the question is how’s the shooting and what should I be expecting? Thanks in advance

Nothing at all wrong with groups like that at 200.Consistent shape and size,I would be happy with that kind of accuracy out of an outfit like you have. For sure, there are shooters and rifles that can do better, but there are more that can't do as well.

Thanks for the replies. I have some confidence now that I’m doing ok with what I’ve got. I’ll keep working on it and move it out in time. Maybe I can get into hunting as I get comfortable with some distances.

jb,we have a pretty durn nice range/s here behind the house. Can shoot almost whenever I please. And still.....

You would not believe how much I dry fire practice.

Good shooting,enjoy the process.

The question is "critique my shooting" which apparently referrers to your marksmanship. But more information is needed about your shooting technique. If you were shooting offhand you are much above average. If shooting from a hunting sitting position with sling, you are still above average and good to go.. If shooting from a bench with rifle supported on rests you might want to improve your "table manners" technique, or whatever you are using for rifle rests, or both.

Ok, here goes! I like that your groups are symmetrical in shape and that all 3 are consistent. I agree with offhand's post, I think he worded it pretty well. Handloading should tighten up those groups some. If you don't have a good front rest and good bags, those would also tighten up your groups. That and practice, practice, practice!

I would say that you are off to a good start.

This is shot with front bag rest off a table. No rear bag but I got elbow support. There is no doubt I have a lot to learn, but needed some input from u guys. I am after good hunting accuracy, but u’d like to do as well as possible. Time for more practice now
