NRA ballots: any insights?

I think it would be better if folks opposed to the “Lpierre dynasty” just sent a letter to the board saying you will not pay dues until the dynasty is banished. That is what I did several years ago. I stand by it.

That's what I told them the last time they called begging for money. I've also stopped doing the NRA Roundup on my purchases until I see some changes in the organization.
However, I'm still in the dark regarding the ballots so I'll most likely just toss my ballot this year. I would rather not vote than inadvertently cast votes supporting the entrenched dynasty.

I just threw my ballot in the trash. The outcome is a foregone conclusion. The Board will be packed, as always, with LaPierre cronies.

While I understand people’s frustration, I believe there is a method to vote for more better directors. Here’s an article about it -

Essentially you vote just for the write in candidates, using bullet voting, rather than spreading your votes.

The more people who do this, the more likely we are to get a couple of sensible folks onto the board. It has to start somewhere.

I’m curious if there’s a way to find out if any of the candidates up for NRA BOD election are people who are willing to work against the LaPierre dynasty and help bring the organization back from the brink?
Almost all of the candidates on this slate were recommended by the Nomination Committee. LaPierre controls the Nomination Committee.

I just wrote in large sharpie "DUMP LAPIERRE" across my ballot and mailed it back in.

I know Frank Tait. He is one you want on the board!

I just did this. Maybe it’s a start.

Guess I’m part of the “silent majority” only comments so far are negative. I’ll subscribe to the theory that the Devil you know ………….. !As a 40+ year life member I’ve seen the NRA go down this road before.

I neglected to add my voting practice has been limited to those on the ballot from my home state.

How does only voting for the write-in candidates and the one recommended one concentrate your vote? I would be worried they just themselves add votes for 22 of the official ones.

From onlygunsandmoney “I am a strong believer in bullet voting and these three are the only three I would encourage you to give your vote. Voting for 25 candidates dilutes your vote. You are giving equal weight to both your number one preferred candidate and your 25th preferred candidate.”

Another way of thinking about this - you are withholding votes from the other “22”. Contrary to the recent elections, I have some faith in the integrity of Rogers and Co who should be receiving the ballots. I may be misplaced in my faith. If so, burn it to the ground.

Yes, ballot tampering is always a possibility, but unless you have a more powerful legal method of influencing the board of directors, I would suggest you use bullet voting as suggested above and send in a ballot. I believe they need to be in the mail by the end of July, so if you threw yours in the trash, dig it out and send it in.

Mine went in two weeks ago. If you don’t vote, don’t bitch.

When the results are in please report back. Myself and a bunch of shooters in my social circle have written off memberships until we see some change. I'd love to join but can't stomach it with the reports of misappropriated funds. If this bullet voting shows some promise to make change I'll get a membership just to be able to vote in a better direction the next board election.

I'm also a life member so I can't complain by withholding renewals.

I'll give a plug for Jim Wallace from MA. He is part of the Gun Owners Action League and works tirelessly for gun rights in MA. Gun laws are a mess in MA. I really don't care about them any more because I have escaped the peoples republic. I belive that he could, however, be very effective to help make sure they don't spread.
