I recall an article about one of the first CZ75s in the West.
The author took his apart in a box with handholes and a piece of Perspex across the top.
"Ping - click" as he took off the safety.

I remember having to get on hands and knees scanning the kitchen floor with Maglite for a tiny spring that flew out of my Ruger Security Six when I did an overly detailed disassemble and clean.

I decided to try to avoid sproinging springs in my J22 pistol. I squoze the front coil of the firing pin spring so it grips the firing pin and expanded the back coil so it grips the inside of the takedown button. The subassembly of three parts come out, cleanup and go back together. I also expanded the back coil of the recoil spring so the end stays in its short tunnel at the breech end of the barrel.

Otherwise, the takedown button and firing pin spring and the recoil spring would be free to fly about the room when I take the gun down for a once a year cleaning.

Takedown as three subassemblies, whereas before it was as two subassemblies and four smaller parts.

GONRA suggessts bersaguy wear SAFETY GLASSES (when dealing with gun springs!)
and verk inside a Large Box to (hopefully) contain any flying Bits & Pieces.....

How many people have been hit between the eyes with a recoil spring during their first attempt at field stripping a 1911? No I wasn't one of them but I could have been.

When I took apart my Taurus G2c a couple of weeks ago to figure out a trigger issue, I did not bother to research how to do it. Looked like a Glock assembly pretty much with just a couple of pins.

All was going well until I lifted the trigger mechanism housing out of the frame and felt something hit my hand and then my leg, then watched another small part fall off. I found the small part, but not what hit my leg. Went on Youtube and discovered that it was a 2.5mm ball that was the safety detent. Looked on my dark blue carpet, with hundreds of spent primers on it, and spent about half an hour trying to find a small silver ball in a sea of small silver discs.

Finally gave up and ordered 100 of them on Amazon for $4.99. Got them a few days later and installed one and the gun is perfect.
