Winchester #41 No. 41 Small Rifle Primers, for 5.56

What was the going rate of primers, pre- pandemic/ rush? Not looking to cash in but locally starting to see them come back on the shelves.
I have enough stocked away, and could have purchased several 1000 box/ sleeve's at about $70 each. Last time I actually reloaded anything was about 7 years ago. Well stocked on just about everything I shoot, and just curious. Memory say's they used to be around 40 or 50 a box of 1000. Even cheaper back in the day when Graf's waved the hazmat fee if you spent so much, and you picked up Tula primers.

When I stocked up on mine the year before the election I was paying $22.00/thousand from Fiocchi with their 12,000 pack. I also was paying $29.95/ thousand for Winchesters, and CCI primers at my local LGS. This was toward the end of 2019 before things went nuts.

The last CCI #41 I paid $24/k, bought 20k this was in fall of 2018. At that time the Mil spec was going for $1-$2 more than std SR.

That's about what I experienced as well. I bought 4 cases of standard (pistol) primers a few years ago, I think I got them for $130/cs. I would have to look and see what I paid for my arsenal primers, but I don't think it was much more.

Edit: Yes, here it is... my last order from Powder Valley in 2017...

Case CCI #34's... $38/1000

If I remember correctly, it was about $42 per brick of Winchester #41's at Scheels right before the pandemic last year.

That's where I had seen them, at a local Scheels. It's been so long since I purchased a single brick locally I had forgotten the price's. Sorting thru all the reloading equipment and organizing things just for something to do! Back in the day before some place's started collecting sale's tax and when shipping price's were a lot more reasonable, cheaper to order online for everything. Now not so sure on some things.

Primers here were going for 30 - 35 a brick prepandemic, price tripped, at least in the lgs's that I was getting them from.

I was just at Scheels yesterday, they had a pile of CCI#41's, $56.99/brick. I know I bought them for $38/brick before.
