Brass Exchange?

Yesterday the opportunity presented itself at the local USPSA match. I approached the owner of Brass Eexchange and ask how business was. I learned.

a) Yes they are 60-90 days behind.
b) Supply of brass is down.
1) People are shooting more steel and aluminum cased rounds than in the past and more people are saving their brass.
2) More brass companies, like BE, are competing for the range brass. When contracts expire, range owners have more bids than before.
d) The demand is huge for brass. Not only from individual re-loaders, but from new and existing remanufactured ammo companies.
e) Orders are tapering off with vacation season starting.
f) He hopes to clear a lot of backorder by the end of July.

Long and short is this company is owned by a local (ATL) shooter and he's trying hard. It's the perfect storm for companies like BE.

Dispute the charges on your Credit card.

Never use a debit card. You don't have the protection of a CC. Besides if the card info gets out, they can drain your account.

Communication is not BE's strong suit right now. I cancelled my order via the credit card route as well. I wish the owner would be more responsive. It would help his image and business.

It seems the supply of range brass is way down. Not only are people shooting much less,theyre using more steel these days. And more people are saving their brass. So a supply problem coupled with a labor shortage may be to blame. Have patience, be kind.

This is most definitely true. I get free brass at my local club and I've stopped grabbing any because the mix has gone up from around 1% aluminum and steel to about 30-40%.
