Been thinking of getting one in .45 LC, looked on GB people are asking on average $800 to $1000 for a used one, one seller wants $1600 lol...

What is this another shortage due to COVID and such? I am watching prices go down on other types of guns, but Blackhawks seem to be going up!

I think I ruger has raised some of their wholesale prices three times in the last 1 1/2 years...and sometimes they'll go up by as much as 10% depending on the gun...and that's just one of the reasons.

Not sure but I have had a standing order in with my LGS for a Ruger Blackhawk Convertible either in .45 or .357 and no barrel length specified or a Redhawk .45 ACP/Colt since last July and they haven’t seen any available from their distributors.

Perhaps this is why “used” price are so high?
They are hard to get now.

People are crazy, that’s why. I got a nice used .357 convertible with 9mm cylinder NMB last week for $700 (plus $50 shipping, plus $50 tax) but I had to watch GB like a Hawk for a few months. Some have gone lower but condition was questionable. Convertibles in particular are pricey but all nice condition Blackhawks generally go for $700-$900 and up lately. OMB go for more usually. There are exceptions but they are rare.

Was the same issue during the last half of the Obama years. I’ve noticed that the retail prices of Ruger RH and GPM’s are now almost, if not on par with S&W offerings. Wasn’t always the case. Rugers upward price creep has been ongoing for a number of years.

Well that would explain it best I think as there are hardly any new ones for sale, so guess that people are selling used ones at raised prices for now. The supply and demand thing.

prices are up over a year ago simply because Ruger hasn't made any and sellers know it. I got brand new Blackhawks in 41 magnum and 45LC in 2020 for about $600 a pop, and I consider myself lucky because it will be a while before that happens again. I've been looking at gb because I want one in 44, but not at these prices.

Last BH I got was a 40/10 convertible, that was in November. It was $750 plus tax. Paid too much, but I liked it and I had a gift certificate that had to be used at the store.

Hi..
Check out your local gun shows.
I just bought a used BlackHawk in .30Carbine last week for $450 plus tax and transfer.

Saw another BlackHawk in .30Carbine at another show for $799 yesterday.
There were several other BlackHawks in .357Magnum varying from $800 to $1100.
Did not see any in .45Colt, .44Spl or .41Magnum.
Was one Super BlackHawk .44Mag for $1200.

If you see a great deal check the seller very carefully. Lots of scammers, sellers with no ratings etc.
Off topic from Ruger but I have been looking for a Hi-power target model also, look at this listing new seller listing it $600 buy now, says it is new but looks not though excellent condition, he sold the same exact gun a week ago looking at his feedback. As much as I want to believe a suspect my money order to him would arrive but the gun would never arrive to me. Yep gotta use some common sense, could be legit but spidey senses tell me no. seller is from Brooklyn NY lol.

I think theres a .45 Redhawk for sale in the trading post right now.

I haven't been to a gun show since before 2020, thinking I might hit the next one that comes. I'll bring a mask though and hand sanitizer, four people in my company have COVID recently, two of whom had the vaccine and still got hit pretty hard by it. But there are a few things I'm looking for might be worth going at this point. I did not get vaccinated yet I'm one of those that think it all came out way to fast with way too much questionable politics involved, and would prefer to wait to see what comes of it, but yeah maybe a show this year maybe find the Blackhawk and other things.

There's no way that's legit.

Thank you but the hassle and cost to ship to CA along with fees…I will buy a new one when I can here in state. That is a nice one though…
