How about "Popeye"?

The French Connection is a 1971 American crime thriller film directed by William Friedkin. The screenplay, written by Ernest Tidyman, is based on Robin Moore's 1969 novel of the same name. It tells the story of NYPD detectives Jimmy "Popeye" Doyle and Buddy "Cloudy" Russo, whose real-life counterparts were Narcotics Detectives Eddie Egan and Sonny Grosso.

Gene Hackman (Popeye Doyle) left home at age 16 and lied about his age to enlist in the United States Marine Corps. He served four and a half years as a field radio operator. He was stationed in French IndoChina (Qingdao and later in Shanghai).

I’ve got three sons and maybe 50 or so hand guns. I’ve been known to run through all three sons names on occasion in conversations, no way am I gonna name guns and try to keep them straight……;)

OMG, my wife usually takes 2-3 trys to get any of the kids or grandkids names right. It has become the family joke.

Victor.

I prefer to name my guns after a man. That way I'll be able to trust it.

I named my GP100... Baird. That way Smith, and Wesson, and both Bill Sr & Jr are all rolling in their graves.

I second this one…”Liberty”

This is my model 10-7. It’s a Hong Kong C&E revolver. I just ordered a set of Service Panels for it from Altamont. When I got it the blued steel was in excellent condition but it had these ugly grips on it. I have a feeling some Customs & Excise Officer swapped grip panels on it before it came back to the US.
It also resembles a Victory model.

About a year or so ago I picked up a Model 10 that was a French police trade in. I had to send it off to S&W to get worked on so I had them refinish it. They put a nice matte black finish on it that they called "blued." I have an old set of Coke bottle grips on it and just put a lanyard loop on it last night. I bought it to give to my sister but I liked this so much I gave her something else instead. I bought it because it was relatively inexpensive and my excuse was to have a "Victory" model type revolver, but not an actual Victory model. What would be a good name to call it similar to "Victory Model"? I use it as truck revolver and when working on the farm. I do not know how to post pics, so sorry about that.
I know!

Kevin.
