Ruger LCP max 380acp

I am quite pleased about the capacity bump, which makes it usable in more circumstances and locales. The decent and replaceable sights remote the other objection that I had to LCP II.

Now, one remaining thing I do not like is the excessively generous trigger guard. It makes LCP II and LCP MAX harder for me to hold than Glock 42. But I could live with it.

The little "ears" at the rear of the slide could be a nice touch. HK had those for a long time on P30 and I think VP9 too.

There it is...been looking to upgrade from my old TCP for a while now. Nearly ordered an LCP II the other day, was thinking of maybe a Bodyguard, but I think this would be perfect. Who has these?

How much larger are the measurements compared to an original LCP?

The reason I bought an LCP was because it was easily pocketable and light.

Edit: Just checked the Ruger site, $449 for the gun, $40 for the mags.

Here's what I see on Ruger's website.

LCP
Length = 5.16"
Height = 3.60"
Width (overall) = 0.82"
Barrel = 2.75"
Weight = 9.6 oz.

LCP II
Length = 5.20"
Height = 4.00"
Width (slide) = 0.81"
Barrel = 2.75"
Weight = 11.2 oz.

LCP Max
Length = 5.17"
Height = 4.12"
Width (slide) = 0.81"
Width overall = 0.93" per this article
Barrel = 2.80"
Weight = 10.6 oz.

Thanks!

Looks like the big difference is the height, about 1/2" higher.

Just weighed my original LCP, the weight in the charts is with an empty mag. The weight difference between a Max loaded with a 12 round mag and an LCP with a 6 round mag will be 3 oz. more.

If I hadn’t bought a LCP 2 a couple of weeks ago, I’d be interested. Maybe in a couple of years.

I bought my LCP at bargain basement prices ($199) brand new soon after the LCPII came out.

I'd expect LCPII prices to drop dramatically now as well. Not sure there's much more room for the original LCP to fall, however.

My plan for this new gun is a light summertime belt gun that can also serve as a pocket gun around the house.

Recently I started looking at the 9-max pro as a light belt gun but the weight isn’t significantly less than my Shield so I’m going with LCP max.

grab a gun has the new Max for $399.

There is something to be said for more boolits but if I want more I can always carry an extra mag for my LCP.

I agree .. a great summertime belt gun ..12 +1 Underwood XTP 380acp .. would forget you had it ..
I hadn’t carried my TCP in a year or so .. didn’t go anywhere last summer… have been into my revolvers… but Im a fan of the 380 no muss or fuss
