I’m a big fan of CZ’s rimfires. I have a 452 American in 17 HMR, and a 457 Scout in a .22. Both are shooters. I really like the new Leupold freedom rimfire scope too. Both have that scope sitting on them.
I never gave it much thought but some years back I bought a CZ 452 and have yet to fire it. I put a Leopold 4X scope on it and it has sat in the safe ever since. The old Remington 510P I posted earlier was my first rifle so I call it my favorite but heck, any of all the ones I have accumulated could be a "favorite". You just have to love .22 rimfire guns including handguns. :)

I have failed to choose a favorite 22. I have several and love them all but I cannot choose a favorite, but I have enjoyed this thread. The 22 rifle for me is the ultimate weapon. I can do anything I need to do with one. The greatest caliber ever invented.

I have a CZ 513 that was my first rifle i got and boy is it a solid one. Accurate as can be. In a more modern approach i got an a22 ive been meaning to make a post about because i just recently got one and they are quite the little rifle. They sure have won me over and it put my 10/22 on the backburner as for autoloaders.

What a "wonderful trip" through five pages of .22 rimfire BLISS! Seems to me a specific .22 rimfire category would be warranted from what has been posted on these five pages.
But............asking which of my .22's are my favorite? That's like asking which one of our kids is your favorite. If I've ever met any .22 firearm that I didn't like, it was either traded off or just plain sold outright. Here's just a smidgeon of my "favorite" children:

Very nice!!!! JP

My favorite is a Kimber, but it is above my price range so I don't own one. I have a 1947 model Mossberg that is great. I also have a Marlin .22 mag that is a fine weapon. and A Savage Model 24 in 20 gauge over .22 Lr that is the one I carry the most - it is a fabulous foraging gun.
Never heard of an over/under with a .22 with anything other than a 410

Offhand, your rifles never cease to amaze me! Absolutely beautiful. Every time A thread like this comes up I can’t wait till you start sharing your beauties!

 :what: :(

How...do...these...words.......even......exist....together!?
Well to be fair, sometimes there no real reason for a .22.... Until relatively recently I couldn't often legally shoot my .22s here. They aren't legal on most public lands, and there's only two people I know who had properties I considered it safe to shoot on.
Growing up it was never an issue since my folks owned our shrimp farm, and well....it was also Molokai.
From about 2001 till I made friends with somebody who had property here on the big island, I don't think I fired more than a box of .22s.... In fact the 2008 I bought a box of Winchester bulk ammo....325rnds i think....and shot the last of it in 2018.

Thankfully i have a place to shoot now...and heres my current favorite...

No gun ranges?

No gun ranges?
There was an indoor range for a short time, but by the time id heard about it they were on the way out.

There were psuedo legal (read NOT, but enforcement looked the other way....unless they didnt) areas we would sometimes go, but by switching to a .223 you could be 100% legal. So thats what we all mostly did.

We've now got an official range where you can legally shoot stuff like 22s and non-hunting handguns, So that makes life easier....

I feel guilty picking one, so I pick these two cousins

The top rifle, a Winchester Model 72a, made in the 1950s, was my first rifle. Grandpa gave it to me on my 12th birthday, after a summer of instruction. Its a wonderfully built rifle with a full sized stock, high quality bluing, and superior craftsmanship. It was certainly never meant to be a cheap or junior firearm. Over the years, I've put about a bagillion rounds through. Its still the rifle I grab when I just want to walk out into the desert and shoot cans.

The second rifle, a Winchester Model 69a, I found at an antique store about 15 years ago. Based on the features, I believe this one was made circa 1940-1941. I had loved my 72a for so many years, I couldn't pass up its cousin...especially for just $100. Its become my silhouette shooting rifle, and I absolutely adore it.

If I'm shooting from a bench or bench-type setup, my favorite to shoot is the BRNO Model 4.

The Model 4 is a big gun, too large to go totin' around a lot. For non-bench type shooting, I'd choose some version of a CZ 452 like a Trainer, FS, or American. Or a 453 Varmint.

I’ve always liked my Stevens Favorite, but I rescued a Marlin 39A that turned out pretty nice when I found a 20” Century barrel & handguard, my CMP H&R M512 (Remington Trainer), 2 Henry 22 levers and a Henry 22 mag lever.

For pistols, my High Standard Trophy & Colt 22 (formerly known as the “22 Cadet” but I think there was some legal problems with the name because I’ve owned both.

I also have a SiG 522, a few 10-22’s as well as a couple kit guns based on the 10-22.

I’m starting to see a pattern here … maybe it’s not a specific 22 that I like …
… maybe I just like 22’s!!!

A few of my favorites, some I didn’t mention

Marlin 80DL. While it’s a great shooter and I love the peep sights, It’s got sentimental value. Last year when my dad was in lockdown he had a long hospital stay and has to use a walker, so he had some serious depression. He’d had this old 80DL for years which needed parts to run. So we tackled it as a team project and after some research & mail order parts, got it 100%. He was so excited he decorated the stock with an iron and I refinished it with some Linseed oil. I like my 10/22s, but I guess this little Savage Rascal Target is my favorite. It’s just fun. Gophers and squirrels are never safe here! I like that the barrel is threaded just in case some day I want a really quiet .22. AccuTrigger, 16.1” heavy barrel, 4x32 scope, Ace 2 paracord sling, single shot.
