My father in law left behind 600 rounds of 30 cal carbine ammo in five 120ct bandoleers/stripper clips. unopened. I opened the "spam can" (shouldn't have) and it looks pristine. Head stamp is RA/53. I've no use for it and working on using it to get some money knocked off a purchase at a LGS. What should I expect to get for it?

I recently paid $80 bucks apiece for 1980s South Korean made .30 Carbine ammo in the bandolier of 12 ten round strippers (67 cents a round).
Military matches started up here this spring, but .30 Carbine was hard to find.
Then, couple of weeks ago Dunham's had a few dozen boxes of new Remington and Aguila made .30 Carbine 110gr FMJ at under $50 a fifty round box. (98 cents a round).

Checking ammoseek.com this morning, plenty of new USA made brass case is available at .60 per round. If you get over $220 in trade value I'll be impressed with your negotiation skills; unless you pay way over retail for whatever it's traded towards.

I went back to LGS today and got $240 knocked off a mint 1965 S&W 15-2 Combat Masterpiece 38. The gun shows no scratches and zero wear on the finish. He was asking $650 and came down to $575. So for $335 cash and the ammo that has been collecting dust for years I got a very nice classic revolver. Only problem is this state is overhauling it's system for background checks and no one is able to do transfers for a while. All the gun shops are backed up with stacks of paperwork. LGS said he'd call when he got caught up.
