I was always a fan of the M series when they hit the market.

massively underrated and unfortunately marketed terribly.

Really like the early ones with no rail.

Haven’t held the A2 yet but it looks good, especially with the compensator. I love my L9A1.

On any other handgun I could understand going with a red dot by any set up the user likes but with the Steyr trap sights I see no way to improve on the combination of speed and precision they offer. I would love to have a set of those exact irons to put in my Colt Government.

The only possible complaint I see with them is they aren’t illuminated but putting a WML on the rail solves that problem anyway.

Great to see the new Steyr pistol.

I love my Steyr L9, M40 and M40 converted to .357 SIGs. I did replace the Steyr trapezoid sights with conventional True-Glow sights and the .357 SIG has a Delta red dot in an OuterImpact mount.

617

Of all my guns my favorite is the 6 inch 617 in 22 LR. I think I bought it about 20 years ago. It fell out of use when I was shooting USPSA where I used y 929.

I love shooting cheap .22 ammo. Fortunately over the years I've stocked up and it's shooting that old stuff just fine. I normally shoot Federal BYOB 36 grain bullets. I haven't had a failure to fire even though my DA trigger is set at 6.5 - 7 pounds. SA is 2.5 pounds. I did all the action work myself but did add an Apex Tactical Mass Drive Hammer.

It shoots Blazer, Mini Mags and Aguila with no problems along with CCI SV. I've had a few FTFs with Wolf Match Extra so I shoot that out of my Ruger Mark IVs and Mamba.

Got this one for Christmas one year. It came with only one magazine while the manual said it was supposed to come with two. I had to go through several different importer's customer service departments before I could find one that would ship me the spare magazine! Talk about a convoluted marketing set-up; Steyr really dropped the ball when it came to establishing a presence in the U.S.!

Other than that I was very pleased with the ergonomics of the gun, like the grip design felt like your hand fit just perfectly there when you picked it up for the first time. Liked the trapezoid sights, though they took some time to adjust to, and the overall fit and finish were really good. Some things I didn't quite care for were the trigger (somewhat heavy at first and then rough and gritty to finish), and the manual safety being placed inside the trigger guard. Not exactly the best place for it.
