Read about the new Kel Tec p 50 in the Shooting Illustrated mag. Does anyone have one to critique on. pro's and con's. Cant seem to find one at the LGS's and the next gun show in S.C. isn't till mid August

At $1000 for a gun that is essentially built specifically to use a pistol brace (which may or may not be legal in the future) and something that shoots a caliber that is flat out not available and won't be for years and when it does costs 60 cents a round, I think anyone buying it will have buyer's remorse very quickly after the novelty wears off.

Kel-Tec issued a recall for the few P-50s that were released. A Kel-Tec employee (their top machinist) visited our shop last month and said that they don't expect to start releasing them again until late 2021.

Actually there is no pistol brace currently available for them, and the engineering of the gun makes it look like adding one that is solid is going to be rather tricky.

I also personally have no interest in pistol braces. I don't wish them to be outlawed but as it is it's a blatant loophole that I can't help but see them closing eventually.

Personally, I'd be interested in the gun as a rifle - put on a 16" barrel and and actual stock (as long as they can make one work with this design), and I'd buy one. As it is though without a stock option there's not even an ability to SBR the gun.
