My local Wal-Mart (deep south) had several boxes of bulk .22LR today. Maybe a dozen. 3 box limit. Federal 40gr and Remington GB 36gr. Average cost 5.6 cents / rd. tax incl.

Also several boxes of shotgun shells and some cf rifle ammo including 7.62x51 Winchester in white box, I didn't see any prices except the shotgun shells which looked unchanged from a year or 2 ago.

First time I've seen it for any price in many many months, let alone near pre-panic retail.

Maybe...

My Walmart in Plymouth, Indiana had over 60 bulk boxes of Federal Automatch a few weeks back. Gone when I was in there a few days ago, but it’s obviously being shipped

Thanks and that reminds me I need to get some 16 gauge shotgun shells for an old Remington 16 GA I inherited. Had a few shotguns as a kid, later bought and sold a bunch when we had a gun shop but never really got into them. I inherited one about a year ago and in memory of my uncle here it sits. :)

Winchester has been cranking out that 7.62x51, I've seen it in Walmart, Bass Pro, and Cabelas, stacked deep at each location.

About a month ago they gave me 5 100rd packs of mini mag target for around $9. Every shop around here wants $20-100

I got my 3 boxes of 525 ea. Remington for I think $26.47 ea. plus tax. I’ve always had good experience with these.

It’s odd because I don’t need them. I’ve probably more than enough .22 lr, but I just couldn’t pass them by alter seeing none for so long. Goofy. I’ll end up giving them away to folks who need them.

Later I got their only box of 16 ga. #6 for $7.97. I have an old Sweet Sixteen that will be glad to see them.

Have been picking up a few boxes of .22 fairly regularly at Walmart for the last few weeks----if you go in today all they have is 4-5 boxes of .350 legend though

I have no problem with store employees buying before it hits the shelves. There are always perks and benefits to working somewhere and working retail is you typically get first shot at a purchase.

Not true ,retail stores count on profits to exist . They need to sell their products to the public to get folks in the door , not supply their employees. Employers don't say...hey everyone gather around and grab what you want and we will put the remainder on the shelves .

Supply started picking up around here a couple of months ago. It's still not exactly what you'd call a "good" supply, but it's out there if you know where to look.

Good to see things back on the shelves now. Still waiting for them to stay there for a while before I figure this mess is over with this time. I'll be in a much better mood when the primers stay on the shelves LOL.

ETA: I am retired now and could be one of those waiting vultures trying to get my 3 boxes of ammo to resell. First getting up early and spending $15 in gas to get in line to buy some makes no sense. Then spend the same amount to go to UPS to ship it along with shipping charges. Really?? Rather leave it for those that need some locally. Guess I am lazy LOL.

I’m with you on the primer story. Two years ago Brownells had a sale on them for less than $30.00/1000 delivered incl hazmat. I bought a bunch, should have bought more.

I was a little curious about the quality of the .22s, given the pressure manufacturers have been under. Shot 50 of the Remington today with excellent results! Ruger LCP II .22.

I won’t be selling any ammo. Give some away, probably. Sell, no.

That's a great price! I just found some at our local Walmart for $3.67 box of 50 CCI Std 40 grain.

Ditto, pretty much same here. Before even Sandy Hook I likely had more ammunition and loading components than I will need for the rest of my life. Whenever I saw what seemed was a good deal I bought. I sure as heck am not getting up at 6 AM to be the first inline anywhere. :)

Also, why is it always Walmart?

Ron

Maybe because they're everywhere. Prices are usually consistent across their stores.
No I get that part. Every time there is a shortage like this, the last being the year following Sandy Hook, the subject of either five guys waiting for the store to open and buying all the ammo to scalp it or the employees are grabbing it all for friends and family. Seems it's always Walmart. :) It was an attempt at humor.
