What is the most recent knife you bought?

I think this knife is a new offering from Ka-Bar, there's some others also. Surprisingly, it's made in China, blade is 8Cr13Mov, G10 scales.

It reminded me of another knife and makes me wonder if there's some collaboration going on with Kizer.

I have been happy with S&W Extreme Ops (7Cr17MoV) on top of picture that's withstood the daily abuse of general purpose cutting duties while retaining sharp edge but in recent years, I have found my wife "borrowing" it more and more and currently lives in her pants pocket (I don't think I will get it back, ever).

So after dropping off my sister in law in Nebraska, I stopped by Cabela's in Sidney and found the S&W America's Heroes (3Cr13) for $9.97 and combo Cabela's multi-tool/head lamp for $19.99. I was surprised at the heft and build quality of the multi-tool which I did not expect and like the locking blade. Wife will enjoy the second headlamp she will use for chicken house night work.

Just got this beauty in today. PL Knives Artic Wolf replaces my FF Duke as my favorite knife design. Kind of a mini bolo, bet it gets great curls. Superb sheath as well. No dirt time for her though.

My first Randall , just picked it up 165 miles ago . I know nothing about it, need to research it and try to pinpoint the date , etc . . I bought it solely for resale , now that I have it in my hands I am not sure if I want to do that or not . I have wanted a Randall for 45 years, the first two knives I ever made were Randall copies .

Benchmade Barrage (full-size) for my 22 YO old son who is emigrating to Israel next week to join the IDF (we're Jewish and he's already been an exchange student at Tel Aviv). He had a mini barrage but hankered for a full-sized one.
They're very nice knives. As you can see, this one has been carried a little bit. Best wishes to your son. I understand IDF is an excellent outfit. barrage2 (2).jpg

Our sons and daughters... you raise them then watch as the take life in both hands and head on down the road. Batty... hope his experience is a good one... I've carried a full sized Benchmade Ascent on my person for years - and it's with me as I write this. Good blades, well made and designed.

Batty,
Your son will have a good time and be glad that he chose to go into the IDF. I have friends that went back to the homeland and went in the IDF.

All of them said that they were glad that they went in. All of them definitely grew up, didn't have influences to disrupt them.

He's been there before so he already knows how to get around. Tell him to keep an open mind and his mouth shut! If he comes off as a mouthy American, they'll definitely treat him as such.

Getting through basic is all a mind game, every military treats boots the same. Break them down and then build them back up the way they want them. They don't care how fast they can run, how many push ups.... they want people that can follow orders and think on their feet.

As a treat for going and making it in, get him a good knife. One that's good for the outdoors would be a good idea. That or a good tool like a Leatherman, SOG Power Pliers, SAK....

Tell him good luck and to enjoy himself! See all of the Middle East and other parts of Europe while he's there.
