I use the kind Hickok45 uses. Had a hearing test not long ago. It came back normal. Loudest guns i shoot are my 30.06 and Mosin Nagant. And the range has a roof over it.
30-33 NRR is where it tops out for reliable products.
Buy hearing pro from one of the industrial manufacturers. They maintain a QA program and testing and they arent lying to you to sell product. 3M, Howard Leight (owned by 3M), Sordin, Peltor,
GE-Mini_Gun, do you have any website addresses for these ear plugs?
Thanks!

This is true. I've worn audiologist made, custom fit ear plugs since the mid-1980's. I'm only on my second set, and the current ones are nearly 20 years old.Professional lab custom molded ear plugs can potentially last for years with proper cleaning and storage.
If sound deadening is the deciding factor, muffs are significantly better than foam plugs. Thanks JTQ, but if the good foam plugs are better at reducing noise, I'll stick with them.
